Newcastle United 1-2 Brighton & Hove Albion - 02/03/2025

We’re so easy to figure out for smart progressive managers like Hurzeler and have been for a while. Never liked our chances for this. Isak is the big equaliser  obvs but he wasn’t fully fit and missed the final 40 mins where the drop off was clear for all to see.

We're an average team with an excellent striker right now. We can be more but consistently across the season it could not be more clear what damage our inability to improve the squad has been. The team look leggy. Players aren't keeping up form for too long.

Looked bang average for most of the season.

We look so leggy.  Don’t look motivated. Intensity is gone. Seems to be the tactic in the face of leggy players.

Another home game against a midtable side, another limp performance and defeat.  These are becoming completely par for the course now.

Honestly I don’t know why we even play the first XI in these matches at this point, might as well save them for matches when our one track counterattacking style might actually work.

Sorry to be so negative but I bastard hate losing in the FA Cup.

They aren’t mid table tbf, only two points away from us.

The League Cup final is going to be vital to save our season. Can't see us getting top five if we lose that one.

We aren’t getting top 5. We’re incapable of playing with the ball. Teams have sussed it and just let us have it as we’re shit with it.

The young players with Isak, Gordon, Botman and Burn.

Would look to include a purple in a sale, it being one of Tonali or Bruno to generate more funds to buy.

Sick of seeing our midfield be shit with the ball. Get some fucking ball players in there.

I would be open to selling Gordon.

I think he’s replaceable, and he’s shown that he’s too much of a hot head and can’t be relied upon.

Trying to take the positives out of it by saying we don’t have the depth for this tournament.

But then I think of how much that thick cunt Gordon has screwed up such a good opportunity for us. That’s really wound me up.

We don’t, but Brighton do?

Not having that tbh.  It’s the FA Cup man - and that was limp.

We didn't deserve to go through at all, so can't be overly upset really.

Thought bringing on Murphy and Willock, and not taking off Gordon, pretty much sealed our fate, as it actually made us much worse.

Murphy and Willock at the moment really get under my skin.

It's actually sad how poor they are.

Goodbye FA Cup. and probably goodbye our season too. The players severely lack motivation and intensity.

I really don’t think there’s much a motivation problem. The approach is just so inherently predictable and we lack guile.

They got battered a few weeks ago and were out of it, yeah they beat a faltering Chelsea side twice since then, but they shouldn’t be where they are and won’t be come the end of the season.

Gordon never can be sold. He’s a very good LW and Barnes needs selling. Can’t be signing 4 wingers in summer :D

Get Gordon someone on LCM who’s quality on ball, he becomes even better IMO.
