Novocastrian Posted yesterday at 10:45 Share Posted yesterday at 10:45 Howe needs to tell the team to forget the LC final. They need to be giving 110% here or they won’t be playing on Sunday. No more gutless surrenders.
Novocastrian Posted yesterday at 10:48 Share Posted yesterday at 10:48 ….also that means 110% for 90 mins not just the first half.
Doctor Zaius Posted yesterday at 10:48 Share Posted yesterday at 10:48 Full strength. Finishing in the CL places is arguably more important for the club than the League Cup final. I know we want to win a trophy, but 2 seasons out of 3 in the CL will enable to club to kick on massively.

TRon Posted yesterday at 11:24 Share Posted yesterday at 11:24 I think games like this where we really do need a win to stay in touch with the top 5, we tend to win, especially coming off a disappointing loss. The players will be that much focused and on it I reckon. That makes a big difference.
Conjo Posted yesterday at 11:56 Share Posted yesterday at 11:56 Completely fair for Howe to challenge the players to fight for a spot in the cup final considering the last few performances. Would hate to see players giving up on balls they normally wouldnt, or not challenge for the ball when they normally would in fear of missing out on the final due to suspension or injury. Sibierski Posted yesterday at 12:11 Share Posted yesterday at 12:11 Semi rotation required for me. Both with cup final on horizon but also to give players a kick up the backside as current form past month does not warrant spaces being safe for them, because it’s showing. Pope: Trippier, Krfath, Burn, Tino: Miley, Bruno, Longstaff: Willock, Osula, Barnes

And if we play like we do as we’ve done in majority of games for 2nd half’s, a full strength team will get a hiding. Certain players don’t warrant starting again. A kick is needed prior to cup final. Sibierski Posted yesterday at 12:39 Share Posted yesterday at 12:39 And that’s a team missing Dubs, Schar (lol), Tonali, Murphy and Isak, based on most people’s perceived strongest of who’s available. Isak only one that moves the needle IMO.

Geogaddi Posted yesterday at 12:45 Share Posted yesterday at 12:45 West Ham are a poor side so it all depends on us and how we turn up 6 days before the cup final, if we have the right attitude we should win but I wouldn't be remotely surprised if we don't turn up and get beat. Keegans Export Posted yesterday at 12:50 Share Posted yesterday at 12:50 It's all very well saying we should use this as an audition for the cup final but if we deviate much from our on-paper "best" XI we won't beat either West Ham or Liverpool
Sibierski Posted yesterday at 13:13 Share Posted yesterday at 13:13 But based on yet another average showing at home with our ‘best’ XI, why are people so scared about deviating away from it? People were saying it’s stale etc. then want the same side rolled out yet again and expect things to be different?

I'm happy to take that risk. I've seen us win 432 Premier League games so far - but not seen us win a trophy yet.
