What an experience.

Coming onto Percy street and seeing both Eldon car parks rammed with people singing songs, Tsang foods waving a Toon flag out the window while a mob climbs on the Oxfam roof to get a good vantage point.

One Dad saying to his son "I've waited 41 years for this, you can stand an hour in the cold", and meeting people who came just to film it for those that couldn't make it.

Hearing the roar as the bus turned the corner, the chants as the players get close, and the city collectively realising that this was all real.

Don't let anyone tell you any different - the League Cup is massive, and so are we.

I am wiped after that.

Tremendous day. There was a lovely vibe around the place. Newcastle at its best. Shame the Town Moor was baltic.

I was joking with my daughter about the cold. Saying can they make sure they win the FA cup next time so it's nearer summer when we celebrate.

I booked marked this to show the old ladies at coffee tomorrow. My mother, her best friend and my aunt and uncle who care nothing about football but I foist it on them anyway.

I should have remembered to mention my mother and her best friend became besties the year you last won a domestic cup, before this glorious moment. 1955.

Unbelievable day that. Just watching it back...would love to know how many was out.

Got a cracking little spot on the corner of China town. Was there for about 2 o clock. Worth every minute to see the kids faces for that 30 seconds

I did wonder how they were going to manage the Town Moor and it turns out they just didn’t. Never got asked for a ticket. Loads of people with cans.

So, the way it should have been then.

I was there with the bairn and I can honestly say I was fuckin gasping for a tin/pint in my hand 😂 if only to take me mind off the fuckin wind on me back.

Today reminded me I need to buy a hipflask, a few swigs of whiskey would've helped in that climate.

Brilliant afternoon, shocked by the numbers turning out. One thing though never seen so many police in the parade never thought there were that many in the force.

I had a canny spot on the road at the junction at the Hancock, felt a nudge in the back and thought it was some prick trying to get in front of me and the bairn, turned round with a canny scowl.... Was armed police with a rifle and about 3 normal rozzas :lol:move on through sir.
