Your board does a good job of moving players on before they become duds, that's for sure. We just give them a new contract.

Aye like Chris Wood...

Meanwhile we are still stuck with Callum Wilson. 😅

Just watched last night's MOTD 2, my days what horrific coverage! Our game 90% post match talk about Manchester Reds, Ipswich game 95% talk about Chelsea, Wolves game 100% of the after game talk is about Spurs, not one mention of how good Wolves were. Sickening bias for flailing, has-been teams.

Was just having a flick through Redcafe and the sheer gall of this remark, after fucking decades of bullshit soft home penalty awards under Fergie:

Referring to Dalot hoying himself over for a pen under challenge from Bruno just before our second goal btw.

Made the same point in a post in the Man Utd thread. They (and the others in the cartel) get a sickening amount of coverage, way out of proportion with current levels based on...historically being good I suppose? Conveniently forgetting that in the late 70 and early 80s, Forest and Villa were big clubs who enjoyed huge success, particularly in Europe.

I swear Man Utd have received roughly twice the coverage of us, Villa and Forest combined this season, as pundits and ex-players weep and wail over their pathetic efforts. They just can't understand/accept that these clubs, though historically successful, are in a trough of failure and it's about time, other clubs were given their due. Spurs are the perfect example of a cartel club who have achieved roughly nothing for decades, outside of a freakish run in the CL a few years back, but let's talk about them endlessly and why it's "going wrong" for them, instead of how Wolves took them apart.

I mean they're right, we HAVE seen them given.

They were all given incorrectly though, but still.

Taken with a pinch of salt because hindsight is 20/20, but this is an entertaining watch from Adam Cleary.

Two interesting points:

1) How the tactics team apparently tweaked our formation in the second half after they identified Fake Bruno as a significant playmaking threat on the left; and

2) Crystal Palace (who we face next), seemingly shit the bed big-time when they get pressed upfield. [emoji38]

The bit about the second half adjustment really boosted my mood. Thought OK Tindall and Jones have got this.

(I am absolutely terrified we'll lose to Palace. Just the sort to midtable flotsam that been beating us all season).

The coverage thing is annoying. I kinda get it for Man U because they are such a big club but it is frustrating.

Im so keen for us to press home our advantage as a club.  Most pundits didn’t have us qualifying for Europe at all.  We still aren’t being taken seriously.  If we can push in the transfer market and get further quality in we can start thinking about 73-85 point seasons rather than 60-72 point seasons.

The media haven’t shifted to reckoning with us. With CL, a bit of luck and our ambition that could change over the next 18 months.

Unfortunately the coverage thing makes perfect sense when you put on the business hat and realise them being shit draws more attention and clicks than us being good.

It's the depressing reality unfortunately, and it's the thing that actually keeps them relevant, the moment they stop generating interesting positive or negative is the moment they are fucked.

Does it though? I don't think people watch MotD because they want to see Danny Murphy lace into Victor Linderlof. I would be amazed if any real market research went into MotD.

I'm more referring to the the overall media reaction than just MOTD. but I do agree with you about the market research point I doubt any of that happens on Motd.
