Newcastle United vs. Crystal Palace: 16/04/25 @ 19:30 (Sky Sports)

Recommended Posts

Palace have been in good form and we've had some bad results at home against mid table teams. We've also been fucking awful against them the last two times we played them, though they were both away.

Did see a stat that indicates they're the least press resistant team in the league. Give the ball away a lot under pressure so that gave me a bit more confidence. That said, if they go long Marteta will put up more of a fight than Zirkzee and Eze's a classy player.

Either way... into these bastards!

Nervously excited for tonight. Chance to go 3rd. Under the lights. Should have won down there earlier in the season.  Another statement of intent opportunity. I back the lads to get this job done this season.

When it really mattered they went down to Wembley and handedly beat Liverpool. That was a major mental milestone for our side.

Fucking cmon boys!!

Didnt we get battered down there? Managed a draw somehow. Iirc, I could very well be wrong.

Yeah, we didn’t have a shot on target all game.

Feels similar to the Brentford with the talk around their away form etc.

Brentford won 5 on bounce away from home before coming to SJP

In the away leg we weren't on great form going in and Isak got injured early on and pretty sure we had Gordon upfront for rest of the game.

I think that performance was more about us than them.

Lost 4 in 15 away from home Palace. Not sure where 2 came from.

6 wins

5 draws

4 losses

3 of final 4 away games Newcastle, Arsenal, Liverpool.

Wouldn't get too hooked up on the stats that they're amazing away from home, they're not.

We are at home and they are 12th in the league . It's no different to playing Brentford a few weeks ago really . They are a decent side but are 12th for a reason and we are on a roll. 3-1.

They've got 5 or 6 really good players but so have most teams mid table. They're in the best form of the season and are not to be taken as a pushover but we will be totally motivated and focused, I've no doubt. Let's see how it pans out but I'm not particularly nervous about tonight.

We along with Liverpool are THE form teams, we have a few back in for selection. We’re at home, under the lights. Wor flags, Mad Dag’s (nod to Snatch) B&W army. Doing it for Eddie. Into these (just not too much Big Joe) :indi:

Huge opportunity. Palace are a good solid side. I rate the manager. Will not be easy. I'm hoping atmosphere is strong, support for Eddie and the lads. 3 points are massive here.

I think we should stick with the same team.

Bruno will need to do most of the dirty work to allow Joelinton not to get booked. This will be completely different to Man Utd, Palace are a lot better in team ethic.

One thing Eze does really well is cut inside at the right moments, interesting night for Trippier.
