Nervy second half of course but shouldn’t we all be going mental that we’ve almost made the CL?

Every chance we'll still have to beat Everton so probably not yet.

Without the elbow assault they are still the most thuggish side ive seen in a while,Three times i think our men went for a honest header in the air and they just backed in on the sly without any intention of goin for the ball with Tino nearly being a casualty

Dirty as fuck and chippy with it. Surprised only Enzo got booked for dissent because they were on the ref constantly.

Second half was a bit dicey, not a massive fan of just sitting in tightly and destroying everything - only takes one mistake, one trip, one misplaced pass and you're fucked. I do think the early goal had a big part in how the rest of the game developed though. Tonali gave us a cushion and moved the onus squarely on to Chelsea to to the pressing and make the running. They had to push and take chances and that meant we could change the way we played, conserve a bit of energy and hit them on the break to wrap it up and that's exactly what happened.

Jackson's stupidity also cost them and it's telling they looked better when he was in the shower than they did with him up front. The red meant Maresca had to change it up and go for it even more. We defended well, held on and did what we needed to do although a second goal shouldn't have been left that late, we had chances to settle it

Overall, the result was all that mattered and we got it done today. 3 more points to get and 2 chances to wrap it up - today was the big one though and we deserved it

I'm all for not playing Wilson but he literally came on for 2 mins when the game was won

But that could have been given to a youngster to gain confidence. Dont see the point of putting Wilson on.

Wouldn’t be surprised at all if Wilson has an appearance bonus in his contract and Howe is giving him a few pay days on his way out as a thank you. Wilson has done a lot for Howe over the years.

You reckon Howe puts saying thank you to people above winning football matches?

Huge, huge win. All that mattered was the three points, but the GD swing of 4 between us and those dirty little bastards is a welcome bonus.

And sorry Nick Jackson, the red card is for real!

He does, it was reported last week, but it's already at the point where he won't make it.

Should be enough to just need to beat Everton now so today puts us in a really good position.

Other results the last couple weeks have meant unforuantely today's win doesn't guarantee anything, but I'm still buzzing with it...just not letting myself go completely yet as last two games are still really tough and we're going to need 3 points.

The game is frequently won/lost by the time he comes on. His main (only?) job now is to give Isak a rest which could easily be Osula’s job since those minutes would be far more valuable to him.

If Arsenal don't beat Liverpool, and if we beat Arsenal, we finish second if we win at home against Everton.

Lots of 'if's there, but second place could be in our own hands by the end of today.

I reckon not enough is being made of the goal difference element. That late goal was absolutely massive. It was, in effect, two goals.

If we win one and lose one from here (very possible) and Chelsea win their last two (very possible), that Bruno goal is immense and could easily be the decisive factor.

That second goal could end up being crucial for us.

Essentially counts double for our GD. Puts us at +23 and Chelsea +19.

Wasn't the prettiest of performances in the second half but job done. Would have snapped your hand off pre match for that result.

Almost there.
