I live in Nice so Monaco (a) 100%. My brother lives in Madrid so one of those away too and then if I can be really greedy I work in Belgium a lot so Union Saint-Gilloise as well.

Went to Milan and Paris last time and both were class like.

There much confidence Nice can make it through qualifying?

Has anyone had any experience of going in the home end for a European away tie? That is my only option to get to see us play away and happy to take the risk.

There were loads in the Dortmund home end last time, but I think ease and/or danger varies massively depending on who it is.

We did this for Milan last time and no issues. We didn't wear colours or owt and kept quiet enough. Everyone around us knew we were toon fans though and they didn't care. In fact when we were leaving and going down the spiral tower thing we saw loads of other folk in toon shirts and there seemed no issue.

Was going to try in Paris too but got warned against it and despite speaking French didn't want to risk it as PSG fans tend to be a bit more cuntish as a rule.

Did it for PSG last time as wanted to go to at least one CL away tie (got to three Europa last time when I had my ST).

Glad I did it, and had a great few days in Paris, but wouldn't make a habit of it probably. It's really not enjoyable being unable to celebrate.

Think the only ones I'd possibly do it for again would be the Bernabeu or the the new Camp Nou. There's strong tourist vibe anyway in the home end of those stadia.

Another point about going in the home end of a European game is obviously where in the ground you decide to buy your ticket. As above you're unlikely to have any issue in most of San Siro, but you'd definitely have a problem if you got a resale ticket in the middle of the curva. [emoji38]

I did it at PSG away too, was right next to the away fans. There were loads of our lot in the home end and their fans didn’t really care. If anything they embraced it as long as you were well behaved. Could order a pint on an app too and it was waiting for you at half time.

They were actually checking passports at the turnstiles but it was fairly easy to slip past them. I did see two of our fans get turned away, then just walked straight to the next entrance and get in no bother.

Yeah it’s important to do your research to make sure you avoid the ultras section

Great, cheers gents - I'm hoping for some tourist friendly places then. Maybe not Napoli away [emoji38]

On a side note, if we do make the final (we can dream), I've seen resales on Ticombo on the day of previous finals go for much less than the face value, will be loads of sponsors making a quick buck on free tickets I believe. I got tickets for Euro final last summer at a pretty decent value on the day from there.

Are people just guessing the pots or are they already decided?

There’s still seven teams to come through qualifying yet, which depending who makes, could slightly alter the potential pot make up. But what’s been shared is largely how it’ll be.

Think Pot 1 is definitely guaranteed as it is.

However, due to the new format, what pot you’re in is nowhere near as big a deal as it used to be.

I was in the home end at Dortmund, it was my first time doing it, and it was surreal!

I was expecting to have to keep silent the whole game, then I get in the ground and there's 10+ people with black and white tops lol. Half-time in the concourse was wild, about 20 Newcastle fans going nuts singing Toon songs for the whole of half-time, completely took over the place, obviously joined them :) Their fans where just laughing at us. Sidestory, I goes to the toilet, guy on my left is a Toon fan, guy on my right went to my school, wtf!

2nd half there was Newcastle songs started on the terraces from a few in front and behind us, mental experience.

Likely the score played a big part in them giving us a pass, and as said plenty grounds it's going to be a different story. I'll always have a soft spot for Dortmund and their fans after that.

Not that anyone asked, but my personal preference for games based on the above, in terms of personal intrigue & quality of the potential game/opposition, not necessarily ease of fixture (From favoured to not favoured):

Barcelona, Bayern Munchen, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Athletic Bilbao, Ajax, Napoli, Juventus, Marseille, Bayer Leverkusen, Sporting Lisbon, Monaco, PSG, Borussia Dortmund, Galatasaray, Atalanta, Olympiacos, Frankfurt, PSV, Slavia Prague, Union Saint-Gilloise, Villarreal

Generally in Germany, the ground is neutral apart from the ultras section and also for big games like Der Klassiker and local derbies etc

i found this last time we played Dortmund

Please note:

Please be aware that in the entire southern part of the stadium (SW, South, SE) access is not permitted to those wearing opposition colours.

In the away team stands - that is, in those parts of the stadium for which tickets were purchased via the away team (typically stands 60,61,08 – as well as in stands 70,75, 55-59) access is not permitted to those wearing BVB colours.

Should the away team not take up its entire ticket allocation, tickets for the unneeded stands will be sold to neutrals and BVB fans, and will only be available from Borussia Dortmund, as well as from BVB advance sales points and here on BVB.de. Entry wearing BVB colours is then allowed, and wished-for.
