Dancing Brave
I've noticed that the Christmas holiday period ( 27 December and on 30 December), not one of the 7 London teams will be required to play a game outside of London.

Aye, they’ve tried to keep the travelling in that period to a minimum, which is sensible. Hence us having Man Utd and Burnley.

Need to address squad depth urgently or it’s just so many dropped points to teams we shouldn’t. Sunderland (A) Sunday Midday, after a hard slog away in UCL is giving me jitters already. scotia1997
What's the chances of the Liverpool (H) on the 23rd of August being moved to Sunday 24th?

Hard to say, depends what order the TNT/Sky get first dibs on games. Assume Sky first, then TNT then rest Sky. Which case, Sky will want Everton game on TV for first pick, then it’s our game against Liverpool and City/Spurs the TNT pick. Which you would expect TNT to pick ours. Sibierski
Just seen we’re on TNT first weekend, so I’d say actually a VERY high chance the Liverpool game is Sunday.

Turnbull2000
We could potentially be playing Villa with almost the exact same team as we did in the 2023 season opener Pope Tripps Botman Scharr Burn Murphy Tonali Bruno Joe Gordon Isak
alexf
Atleast this time we are going into that Villa away not completely cooked physically with a few injured players being carried also like we did last season. Should give them a better game atleast even if it is a tricky opening fixture. Fixtures look brutal though with the champions league dates added in. We are in for a rough season if the squad doesn't get significantly boosted this summer.
LFEE
I always stick to head to heads rather than month to month. So we’ve only got to improve on getting beat 4-1 off Villa and we’ve made improvements 3-3 against Liverpool to better or match, possibly if ideally a late KO. Leeds replacing Leicester City so a 0-3 win might be a tough ask.
Turnbull2000
Yeah, top 7 is the more realistic target assuming no new outfield players of note. Alternatively we bin off the domestic cups.

By the end of the month we were 9th, out of the League Cup, and out of the Champions League. This past season Liverpool were second on Oct. 28, a point behind City. By Christmas they were 12 points ahead of City and 6 ahead of Arsenal having also beaten Leverkusen, Real Madrid, and Girona in the CL and advancing to the LC semifinal. It was Nov/Dec when City completely fell apart last season. I think it's a key stretch when you've already been through a couple months of multiple games a week and all that comes with it.
