What agreement have we broken with Isak?

Well we don't know for sure but it's been widely reported that Mitchell pulled the plug on an improved contract talks and that's why he is upset

Sounds like they are trying to put the Newcastle tax squeeze on and Wissa is pissed as he probably wants to get in now.

They’ve always said 50 to be fair, quoted Forrest that weeks ago

If true then that list is embarrassing. We’re not getting Jackson or Watkins, and Sesko is very unlikely.

Well even if that were true(which i doubt), its still not really comparable.

Isak was promised a new contract by Staveley and after she left and Mitchell came in, he refused to honour the promise.

Does anyone really dispute this?

Well there's plenty believing it, so it's not comparable with what might have been a broken verbal agreement with Wissa? [emoji38]

It's less about Wissa & more the fact this is the 15th player this window we've publically ballsed up trying to sign, with our best player sacking us off in the meantime.

Im bedwetting, but we definitely look like idiots.

We're not gonna bid 50m if the lads been told 26m.

Anyway, great album 👌

I just don't understand why on earth we would "promise" a player a new contract. What did we get in return for this supposed promise?

Can easily believe that the former administration were in contract talks with him and the new administration chose to not go forward with. But thats not breaking an agreement.

Don't really know anything about it.

Might be a canny idea to read some of the reporting on things before having an opinion.

If we hear a report that Isak won’t play for us again and only wants Liverpool then half the board would be on suicide watch and the assumption is we’d cave at £120m.

But the opposite scenario and we’re incompetent mugs who are wasting our time.

If you are talking about fans on here, then yeah.

Some people really need to just log off util the 2nd of September.

Genuinely concerned about their mental health and well being. I cannot imagine just coming on here everyday raging about every transfer tweet like this [emoji38]

Completely letting other fans "banter" about the window rattle them completely I presume. Thankfully the club is just going on about their business and not carrying out negotiations based off of how much they're getting "bantered" in the media.

Indeed, hearing about every failed bid this window has some fans in a frenzy. Imagine all the other targets we’ve missed out on over the past 4 years? Can we go back to being decent at not leaking to the media [emoji38]

What is concerning is how much all of our deals have played out in the media this summer, for the first couple of years under PIF we were so good at being quiet about it all. It really doesn’t help.

It’s the way agents and selling clubs want it to be fair. If we’re selling Isak we could do with as many clubs in as possible to drive the price up.

I’m going to put my neck on the line and say we will sign Wissa… I’m very very confident on this one.

They’re asking for £50m, but have a very unhappy player on their hands who won’t play for them again. We have “walked away / moved on” as a bargaining tactic, and in about a week a deal will all of a sudden be agreed for around £35m ish.

I don’t know why you guys insist on reacting like this to every tweet that gets put out like 😁

You must think Liverpool will get Isak for cheaper on that basis?

£30m +£5m seems more than fair given he’s into the last year of his contract. Brentford taking the piss with this one. They did exactly the same to Man U though so it’s to be expected
