I think because the fee was rumoured £25m-30m early in the summer. The increase feels extortionate.

However given the choice I think his attributes are far more suited to what we need than JSL at a similar price.

The combo of overpaying and underselling. That's what makes it feel annoying.

Crude striker balance sheet: Paid £83m for Isak and Wilson (63 & 20). Received £125m. So +£42m

Paid £120 for Woldemade and Wissa (65&55). So we are -£78m with whatever we receive for them to counterbalance that.

So on these figures at present we are £40m in debit for Woldemarte (54% of £120m) and £32m in debit for Wissa (46% of £120m), which perhaps makes it a bit more palatable.

He's gone on about this move the same way as Isak, personally I can't be happy for him and his dream move when he's been a  dick to Brentford.

But I am happy we have him though.

Having read all of the back and forth about this over the summer and thinking about it all a lot more, I'm fine with all of it. Both Isak and Wissa.

Newcastle and Brentford will have to learn to be careful about what they express to players, whether it's written down or not. Otherwise you risk this sort of thing kicking off, whether you like it or not, and so in future just don't fucking do it. It's very simple.

As for the fans feeling disrespected or hard done by, well they'll have to get over it. There is no level of disrespect any of these players can ever exhibit that compares to the way fans have a go at and abuse these players when they are deemed to be "shit".

There's all kinds of craziness being talked about players that have only just joined the club this summer, and were excited to do so ... and I tell you it's really changed my mind about all of this.

If you can shit on them to the extents we've seen with the likes of Joelinton when they're bad, then when they're good and don't feel any kind of way doing the same and forcing their way out over any kind of slight from the club or whatever, then no fucking complaining!

He's not a bad player I actually really like him. I wouldn't ever pay much for him though because as I outlined i need assets to trade with, I need players who have high ceilings and can improve. Our way of managing psr was austerity and by Eddie's amazing work we somehow came out the other side without too much damage but that's not a trick which can be repeated.

We have plenty of assets to trade with. I would say about 7 who about double their transfer fee or there abouts. How many do you need? We need some experience and guaranteed goals.

You can put all the makeup you want on it, it’s a pig of a transfer.

Extortionate fee for his age. We’ve had forever to research and scout players but have been unwilling/incapable of doing so.
I’m sure he’ll do well for a bit. And then we’ve got a Wilson situation again but we’ve been robbed for the privilege.

Eh?  The experience of selling players so far under this regime has been poor in the main.

So Wissa is quite tge opposite to Big Nick. Quick, experienced and PL ready (bar no pre season)

Tbf when you look at it like that, it works well for the club.

Also, unlike Isak and Wilson, they are probably very well suited to playing together, with Woltermade playing more like a 10, which gives us far more tactical flexibility than we had before.

Because, isak aside. We do not sell our high value assets. We just clearing the low value assets.

We will need to get better at crossing the ball, he’s a tap in merchant so don’t expect goals out of nothing.

I think having a 10 probably means a 2 man midfield off which neither Bruno not JL7 looked capable of doing effectively. Sandro can. Miley and Willock certainly can’t, don’t know about Ramsey.

People whining about an extra few million like they’re paying it themselves 😃 Who gives a fuck man, enjoy the ride..

While I broadly agree fees are overanalysed, we'll all be moaning if we've pissed away our PSR wiggle room that selling Isak has provided.

No he hasn’t. He’s been training with the rest of the team and he had an agreement with the club that he could leave this window (a written one if I believe what I read).

We needed a proven PL striker to come in and hit the ground running to help take the pressure off Woltemade a bit.

In that sense assuming he does just that then it will be money well spent.
