True but you can't justify lashing out so much money on Wissa unless it's deadline day.

Doubt PIF sign such a deal off at that point.

I'd never make it in business because that doesn't make a lick of sense to me. If the price is the price, pay the price. But then again what do PIF know about the value of things. So maybe they know as much as me.

If we are being honest, Isak's tactics were not that unusual and it is undeniable that they were ultimately successful for his goal in this window. We are in an era where clubs excommunicate players who won't cut their wage to leave and players force their way out when the club they are contracted to will not sell them. Both are going to happen more often. What really separated Isak was the horrendous way he handled himself in the press. He looked like a petulant child, was incredibly unprofessional, and burned every bridge with the fans.

Wissa is a good player and he will be productive. Good athlete and goal poacher, but I do worry that last season may have been an outlier, tbh. If the club were acquiring a Congolese striker, I might have preferred Kolo Muani, tbh.  Like most, I like the signing, but question the economic side of it. Toney and Mbeumo were superior players to him at Brentford, imo. Another striker was necessary, though.

hmm let me put it this way, it's not a coincidence we were the only ones in for Wissa at that price.

I think Forest offered 30m got told no and promply walked away.

Nick aside there isn't a single thing we've done in the last 24 hours we couldn't have done six weeks ago and had a proper fucking preseason.

It goes without saying, we have suffered not having a proper recruitment team in place.

Guess we don't know any billionaires who have recruitment staff as children.

Wissa in a Double Pivot Inverted Fullback Number 6 False 12 role. I like your thinking

We’ve been crying out for someone to fill that position, I’ve been saying it to all my football tactics fwends. And they both agreed

Also he’s fucking invisible…………ref won’t even know he’s playing!!

How much? :mackems:

I understand our hands may have been tight, but I find it difficult to get onboard with letting Isak go for significantly less than it cost us to get Woltemade and Wissa in, taking into account the 10% of Isak’s fee going to his former club. Primarily the club have royally balsed up the Wilson situation, who should have been replaced more than a year ago.

I suggested Kolo Muani a few weeks ago, but I guess Howe needs a proven PL striker. With an overseas player you are always taking a bit of a punt, so we ended up paying the PL tax+ some for transfer window incompetence of an inexperienced team.

So close. It's actually Christopher Marlow.

EDIT: Did not see @AyeDubbleYoo say the exact same thing. Dammit :D
