Hindsight is not a stick to beat him with.

To be fair he never had an attitude problem before they went back on their word at selling him and then kept doubling his price.

Still 55m for a 29 year old that looks like a washed up championship striker at this point

Please make it make sense. The argument of he had one good season as striker never washed with me.

If he’s not accountable for shit signings, he should get no credit for good ones

He's started 3 or 4 games in the league for us and now he's wrote off as not good enough. Similar to Woldemade now just branded as "not a striker"

There has to of been a big bust up as he scored 19 for Brentford yet we are favouring Osula.

Eddie but he's got to try and get them to in the team somehow as their stock will just fall more.

I've not given him credit for any signings? Not one poster on here, at any point, thought that the Wissa signing was anything but overpaid, until this season he has averaged a 1 in 3 career and last season was better than 1 in 2, not even Baba Vanga would have seen what was going to happen this season.

Agreed - we all knew we’d massively overpaid.  So I’m assuming Howe knew that too - but he’s still here, not performing.  Scouting a player isn’t just about looking at stats - it’s about character as much as anything; something Howe himself has said before.

I don’t think Howe is wrong in not playing him tbf - if the manager thought he had something to offer there’s no chance he’d be sat on the bench.

It seemed like he was desperate to join and very positive with all his media stuff when he signed.

But he was barely a step down from what Isak did in the summer. So I’d say there could be an attitude problem or a character flaw there.

Plenty said as much in the summer. Not me, mind. I agreed we overpaid by £15-20m. But in hindsight, I was ignoring the fact he went on strike a bit and using excuses for him.

We’ve actually overpaid by about £50m. Par the PSV game, against a terrible side on the night. He looks like a competition winner. Although a competition winner might work a bit harder and act with more professionalism.

As has been mentioned hindsight is 20/20. I was very excited about this signing despite not agreeing with the way he downed tools. We massively overpaid, but I still expected him to be a great signing. He was probably actually worth around £30M given his age, but we had money and were over a barrel. If he'd have done what was expected I think the fee would have been quickly forgotten. He's obviously shown that he should probably be paying us to play for us so it's actually about £60M overspent, but I don't think anyone thought it was going to be quite this bad. He'd had two really good seasons for Brentford (only one as the main striker so less goals the season before but he still looked really good) so the signing seemed guaranteed success, I'm still not convinced he hasn't done lasting damage with the injury he got just after the signed, or maybe he is just a massive wanker who just wanted one last payday but that seems unlikely at 29.

I'm not convinced he' shit or lazy tbh. He might work again for a different manager who sets his teams up in a different way.

Managers need strikers to perform certain duties. Rafa with Mitro being a prime example. Didn't mean Mitro was a bad striker, just Rafa wanted more work rate going the other way.

Overpaid by £50m is an excellent line [emoji38]

He hasn't really had the chance to try and prove himself when you think about it, mainly due to Howes obsession with Gordon, and obviously now Osula getting minutes too.

Sorry mate but when he has played he's barely broken a sweat.  He couldn't care less imo.

I must admit it has looked that way hasn't it, but there's not really been many examples of him getting much of a chance. Before he came here he seemed absolutely desperate to get going and give his all, I don't understand where that enthusiasm went.

The fact Osula started ahead him at the weekend has to tell you he's not even performing in training.  Eddie wouldn't be leaving him on the bench for any other reason.

He shouldn't get a chance just because he was expensive, he has to earn his game time like everyone else. The fact that he's gone from what looked like a plug in and play, tap in of a signing to 4th choice behind a inconsistent winger, an unpolished chaos merchant and a physically weak and slow square peg in a round hole tells it's own story.

He's a bum, get him to fuck.

Howe trying to mend the broken bridge now he realises Gordon, Osula and Woltemade are off in the summer and we're stuck with this rodent upfront.
