You can see why he has been in a relegated team so many times, Howe simply has to recall Pope. Sure Ramsdale makes the occasional flashy save, but it is often because he has positioned himself badly. And his distribution is not much better than Pope’s either.

On the reals, he's not #1 material for a top half Premier League team. Arteta knew it early doors. Half or more of the goals conceded I can't really blame him for with our shite lackadaisical defense. He doesn't really standout nor is he steady enough game to game to inspire confidence.

 

This summer will be mental with our list of requirements but goalkeeper might be top of the list.

Maybe, tbh I'm kind of distracted by our team as a whole being so rubbish that I don't always see Ramsdales shortcomings. When he plays well a lot of people on here share my initial sentiment.

 

But yes, fair point on the wages (assuming we know what they are).

 

I was actually quite uninspired when he came in and felt like it was another example of Eddie being unimaginative and narrow minded in the transfer market, so I'm not saying he's certainly our best option, just that I could tolerate him. He seems like a good lad if that's worth anything too.

Rumoured to be on more than Pope by those who would know. Pope’s salary is listed as like £60-80k a week depending where you look, I think? 
 

Ramsdale isn’t good enough to be our number one and £80k a week plus for him is horrendous. Plus the agreed fee is meant to be £20m!!!

He's a complete pudding, if he was already ours then I'd be OK with him as #2 but paying Southampton the 20m option fee and having him as #1 is more insane than the idea of giving Southampton the 20m and using him as #2.

There's no way you can blame Ramsdale for yesterday, two goals from 1 yard out! Crap defending/more desire from attackers over defenders. Watch Tonali completely switch off for the second then realise oops it's actually dropping near me versus Truffert following his pass and having the momentum to get there first.

He's no good. Craig Hope summed it up well yesterday. When the opposition have a few shots on goal they usually go in. Another area that needs to be drastically improved.

That's because the defence are allowing such clear cut chances. The last two games one of the four goals conceded is partially his fault with the poor punch from the corner against Sunderland, there's no way he can be expected to stop any of those finishes though, they're all from 3 or 4 yards out at most, the defence can't be letting people shoot from there. The 3 against City are two tap ins and one absolute worldy again two clear cut chances which the defence haven't dealt with and one which I doubt anyone would save. I certainly don't think he's great and is going to win us games on his own but he's definitely not the problem currently either.
