Absolutely wounded if we sign this bloke like.

We won't sign him. After seeing him play this season and the way Howe bangs on about PSR we can't be pulling out £20m (plus big wages) on someone we already know to be a dud. He'll go back to Southampton at the end of the season and thankfully that's the last we'll see of him.

He's like a cat on a hot tin roof in his box.  Every save seems to be full stretch and finger tips.  He flaps about a lot of the time when he does come for the ball.  His kicking isn't even that good.  It just looks decent as Pope's is so bad.

WTF he was doing for their first goal I don't know.  Rushing out, then back, then a customary flap.  I was bricking it at every corner and long throw.

Pope isn't the answer any longer sadly and we need a keeper in the summer.  Which we all keep saying.

You can see it with the way that the defence acts when he's playing as well.  They do not trust him.  He's far too hesitant to come for a lot of balls but he's also not communicating to defenders that he's not coming leading to them hesitating in the worst possible areas.

He's been a step down from Dubravka and if he's here next season I'll have serious doubts about our transfer policy.

Permanent deal incoming

:sweetjesus:

Nah am alreet.

He'd be ideal as 2nd-string to give true competition to someone else but not as a #1. That would mean Southampton and Ramsdale need to lower the terms on transfer and contract fees respectively which feels unlikely. Nee way we can drop £20m and pay him £100/wk (reported current amounts from loan) to be backup.

Can anybody lend Aaron a washing line? Former United  goalkeeper from the 1950’s Jack Fairbrother was ahead of his time, but Mr Ramsdale seems to be behind his.

What are everyones view on the Japan keeper Zion Suzuki.  He looked pretty good against England.  Commanded the penalty area particularly from crosses and corner kicks.  Worth a punt?

Worth a punt based on one friendly?

Followed Parma during the 90s C4 era and have always kept an eye on them and watched from time to time since. He's an unbelievable shot stopper but not at the level with his distribution that we would probably be looking for.

But he does have the coolest name of any footballer ever so sign him up for me.

Main gripe with him was crisp packet hands for a few easy goals he's let in (where I've thought 'pope would have had that') but he's pulled a few out the bag over the last few months to shut my mouth.

Fuckin outstanding second save there.

He made a really good reflex save but we may as well have not had a keeper in nets for that corner in the 1st half and the free kick in the 2nd half (when the ref gave a ridiculously soft free kick on Mateta).

Not good enough.

Wasn't it a totally free header?  Ramsdale should be coming for the ball their with a Palace player and a Newcastle defender going for the ball.  Instead it was a free header he had to try to come and punch.  Is he great at corners?, no, is he actually the problem there?, also no.

Anyone see his positioning for the second goal when he was a metre behind the line when the guy scored. He panics too much and isn’t good enough.

Not blaming him at all for today, but blaming the guy that keeps picking him. He won’t be here next season (or shouldn’t be), so stop playing him!
