We're seeing with Trippier, Burn, Pope, Murphy & Willock that we're bang on to start phasing these out. All heroes, but the time is now. Problem has been the replacements haven't been good enough..

Trippier - Burn - Murphy - Pope

They will all be here next season - no way Howe will get rid of these - his boys

Definitely but realistically could we get two? Think more likely Pope stays on as number 2, or he leaves and we negotiate Ramsdale way down from the £20-25m mark.

If we sign Ramsdale after what he's shown this season, I don't think we can consider ourselves a serious sporting institution

Infuriating watching him just kick it long relentlessly despite us losing possession each time. Played right into their hands time and again.

Arguably could have done better for the goals today. I don’t remember many standout goalkeeping performances from either of our keepers this season though. It’s an area that’s massively holding us back.

Pickford seems to do it for Everton every week. Rewwwfs for those shithouses as well. We need a proper keeper.

Said before the game that I would rather Pope had started. Not that Pope is pulling up any trees, but this lad is not made for top level football.

Just put Pope back in till the end of the season then sign a new keeper in the summer please. Don't want to see this lad play for us any more.

Yeah this. We aren’t getting Europe so we might as well try to play Pope back into a bit of form. Ramsdale is a dead project now.

Easy to say now but its Pope for me. Ramsdale hadn't done enough already to earn a move and the best that could ever be said is he's a change from Pope.

If were employing the Eddie method at least Pope's done it for us before, there's fuck all the play for, let him see it out until the end of the season and get another keeper in pronto.

It annoys the hell out of me that the Mackems went and got Roefs for comparable pennies in the summer and he's better than both of ours.

Equally, with Bruno and Miley out for a while, having someone like Xhaka in our midfield pool would have been invaluable.

Our transfer policy of late seems so unimaginative.

I’m zero percent envious of them. They’re having there best season ever, they’ve taken 6 points off us and they’re a massive 1 point ahead us in the league. We’ve got 3 midfielders out that would have started today so having Xhaka in for that rare scenario wouldn’t have made much difference.

I could be reading the room wrong here but people are so outraged because they’re shite and we’ve given them another 3 points. Bar their keeper none of them gets into our side.

We’ve got bigger problems

I'm not envious of them. Just annoyed that our transfer policy seems so unimaginative. For the record I think Xhaka would have played quite a bit for us this season. He would have given us rotation options when others were running on empty. Tonali had a poor spell, Bruno's missed a chunk, Ramsey missed a bit at the start, and Miley has missed a lot of games recently.

When you're competing on four fronts someone like him would have been invaluable. Look how much Willock has played.

Hes better than anyone in our team at playing DM imo.

He’s on loan and we’re not signing him (I hope). No point having him on goal.

This is really the main thing. There's literally no reason to be playing him if Pope isn't injured. I am not sure what's happened there.

He's crap and isn't even our player and we don't want him long term. Ball goes near him he just starts flapping about like a trapped pigeon.
