As said in the transfer rumours thread, the price tag is crazy but if we could negotiate it down to something more reasonable, I'd be a fan of this.

Doubt they'll drop their asking price by  75%.

we had one of the best strikers in the world. do you honestly believe there's a way back for him at this point?

not to mention his already horrific stamina and lack of pre season. we wouldn't see the best of him months from now, at best.

let the cunt rot in the reserves where he belongs. fuck him, PSR, and Liverpool

Not saying I have the answers. I’m just fairly confident the answer isn’t Nicholas Jackson

Even if he's better than Riviere, Rob McDonald, Guivarch etc. he's provenly not good enough for where and what we want to be, so why fucking bother

Where and what who wants to be? How can we be sure anymore ? [emoji38]

Yes and it's in the club's power to enforce it if they have any balls

elanga aside has there been one single positive this summer? We’ve not even managed to win a friendly yet

Half the forum wanted rid of Longstaff and Dubravka too so aye - maybe for some

We've improved strength in depth at GK and RW, we've weakened at CM and CF.

Like I say, I get it, but I think the narrative from social media is giving people 2 sets of two and they're getting 5 atm.

just don't think keeping Isak and expecting him to perform week in week out is a viable option at this point.

Unless Isak is staying, or Big Willie is going up front. Don’t Jackson and Wissa pop off for a month during the ACON?

I think Jackson is instead of Wissa. Osula and Gordon are our spare strikers.

A £40m striker is who Sunderland bought (they paid around £37m), stop quoting prices from a few years ago. That’s the price of players from the prem now.

£80m would make him the 3rd most expensive striker in Premier League history. Absolute joke.

I don’t think Brentford have any desire to sell him tbh

You have to think they're in the same predicament as us basically. So aye, I'd agree.

One of the best ways to judge a player is to have a look at what their clubs own fans think of him.

Have a look at what Forest fans say about Elanga, Brentford fans say about Wissa and then compare that with Chelsea fans about Jackson. There was even a Chelsea fan in another thread on here saying he wasn't up to much.

I hope so. it's obviously the best case scenario at this point. just seems incredibly unlikely. he's been (rightfully) ostracised from the group already.

have there been any similar situations where it's got this bad with the manager, team + fans and they've found a way back?

There's no way we pay £80m for him. Only way I can see this being pursued is if Wissa costs about £50m and Jackson maybe £60m. He's only 24 so we might see better long term value and a higher ceiling maybe.

Wissa's a far better striker right now though.

They’ll nearly triple their money if it’s £80 million. We can never moan about others bailing out the big teams if we do this.

As for us, fail to prepare, prepare to fail. The kind of amateur shite I thought we’d left in the past.

Well, apart from we’re not part of the big 6. Nobody gives a fuck about Wissa, whereas poor old Isak is essentially a hostage.

I wonder how many pages this thread will get to before the saga turns into a disaster and which striker we'll be linked to next.

I'll go with page 47 and the turning point will be a Romano tweet " #NUFC ️ 80m bid accepted by #Chelsea 🔵 but fail agree personal terms with Jackson

🇸🇳  Jackson wants to fight for his place at Chelsea"

Strand Larsen will be the next man up

First 20 pages will be people complaining about the prices that are being quoted. Same people will become impatient by page 40 and have started to fantasize about what positive stuff he can bring to the table. Rumours will fizzle out or he'll go to another club by page 100 and the last 20 pages will be various irrational posts about PIF incompetence, Howe's shortlist, how it somehow is Mitchells fault, the cartel clubs conspiring against us and some random shit like best combo of spices to use on air fried chickpeas.
