There were also some comments here in the forum that attested to Woltemade's lack of quality after his terrible own goal.

 

I'm all the more pleased that Nick showed today that he's got guts and scored both goals. I didn't appreciate the heavy criticism Nick received here in the forum. His own goal in the derby really got to him. But he got back up and scored goals today.

 

Nick is one of the key figures in Toon.

Bruno also won the ball high up and played it to him free in the box and he had a really bad touch that allowed Caicedo to clear.

 

Great bounce back game today, but really should have won it for us in the first half.

Not sure about that, but with a ball like that from Gordon, and in a perfect position, as a striker you would be very disappointed with that.

His movement before the first is great, very similar to Wissa's for his goal on Wednesday.

You haven't read this forum much have you? Especially after a loss or a draw. 

 

I've seen people saying he doesnt suit our style etc many many times on here.

Tbf he doesn't suit the style we've been trying to play in a lot of games this season, ie. sit deep and look for the counter. 

 

He looked great in the first half today because his starting position wasn't 10 yards inside our own half.

I said in the match thread Barnes has missed 2-3 like that and always seems to slice them wide. Needs to maybe lace it and angle back across the goal.
 

But back post volleys on your weaker foot, at full speed on a fast moving ball isn’t easy. The one Woltemade missed was far easier. 
 

Not blaming either, BTW. Woltemade scored 2 and players miss chances all the time.
