Behind the striker , he needs those pockets of space to play in . It's not a radical shift tactically it can be done easily with a 4-2-3-1. If it's a case as has been alluded to recently that the players have to fit Howe's tactics/formation. If that's the case why buy him in the first place?

I wish I could see the presentation they gave Woltemade which convinced him to join us. Specifically the section on how we would use him. Surely the pitch wasn't 'replace Isak in our 4 3 3'?

His best position as a number 10 and we don't play with a number 10. Something has to give for him to succeed here

All my statements refer only to this season, even if Yorkie might perceive it differently. I like Eddie, and I also like Toon – it's my favorite club in the Premier League. Because the fans have impressed me – with the exception of the admin, Yorkie.

 

I respect Eddie's achievements for the club in recent years. But this season – and this is the only one I can judge – he stubbornly clung to an unsuccessful system. There's no longer an Isaak who fit into that concept. And that's Eddie's big mistake: he simply doesn't react. And surely it's still permissible for me, as a Wolte fan, to say that the two of them probably aren't a good fit, without wanting to diminish Eddie's performance up to the previous season.

 

I find the way Yorkie expresses himself to me appalling. He reads what he wants to read. That's why I dislike Yorkie, just as he dislikes me. If I thought Yorkie represented the average Toon fan, I would have left already. But I know there are a lot of nice people here who respect other opinions without being offensive. At least, that's how I perceive Yorkie's comments to me.

 

Just to reiterate for everyone: My criticism only applies to this season. Eddie did a fantastic job before that.

Last September in an interview for Sky Germany Nick said the following:

 

"The Newcastle project is awesome. The coach and the core of the team have been here for years. They only bring in a few new players at a time, like me for example. The club should continue on this path. When you qualify for the Champions League twice in a row in the Premier League, that’s statement enough. I’ve already been at two incredible clubs with amazing fans in Bremen and Stuttgart. Here in Newcastle, it’s a different kind of fan culture, but it’s also a massive club! I can already feel that. I guess they didnt even talk much about tactics since they were so eager to get the deal done (both parties mind).

@Jack14Bojangles I think you just rubbed some people here the wrong way. Being fan of a player instead of a team for me is a strange concept (though I know it becomes more common by the day), especially when you can’t expect much loyalty from players. And even though you say NUFC is your most favourite club in the PL you just said you have only followed it this season (after Nick‘s arrival). If you then harshly criticise a club legend, you have to reap the storm that you have sowed I guess.

Just ask yourself whether you would still be here once Nick left and you know how much you care about the club.

This is the obvious bit, he naturally drifts there. So far he hasn't been accommodated to show real product

Yes, I'm a Woltemade fan, but I really like Toon a lot. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bought the jersey.

Ever since I played in a grass-court tennis tournament in England in 2014 and met the people there, I've liked the people here.

 

Through Nick, I then had the opportunity to support Toon. I had looked into the club. Then there was the atmosphere at SJP, the amazing fans. That's how I ended up here.

I think relatively new posters get jumped on quicker than long serving ones even if they make the same point. @Yorkie is normally a patient mod, and without really getting into the personal spats which end up breaking out here, fans are very loyal to Howe and will try to back him as far as they can. It doesn't mean they are right necessarily, but it's just a matter of opinion at the end of the day.

Even if Nick leaves the club, Toon will always have a place in my heart. Sounds sentimental, but it's true. And yes, I've only been a fan since this season. But everyone has to start somewhere. Except, of course, for those born here; they're Toon fans by birth.

 

For many out-of-town fans, one player was the starting point for their connection to this club. Be glad that a "Kraut" has found his way to you. That's not bad, is it?

 

In my previous post, I explained that I didn't mean to diminish Eddie's past achievements. If that came across as too harsh, I apologize. Maybe it's the translation program, I don't know. In any case, that wasn't my intention.
