A player can look wildly different depending on how a team is playing. Hopefully Elanga isn't actually rubbish and we see it next year. We have a few examples of this kind of thing over the past half decade.

I don’t see Howe changing his style and I don’t see Woltemade becoming an athlete over summer. Another season like this one for him and his value will be demolished.

 

Howe will be under huge pressure right from the start next season, he will 100% back the style of play that made him successful.

If stories are true that he’s eased up in training since his initial impact and run in the team would you agree he is to blame just as much?

Happens with a lot of attackers coming here from Bundesliga, he's the latest in a line of strikers from there who just don't look threatening in this league.

Feels like it was doomed from the get-go. It's clear from this season that the system and tactical style Howe implements and desires requires a mobile striker. I also don't think he would regularly break his 4-3-3 to offer a formation where someone like Wolte would play in-behind a striker.

 

Maybe next year with a full preseason there'll be some evolution but I don't actually believe that, which is why I think it's gonna be pap seeing highlights of this lad in another kit.

He doesn't fit in here as unfortunate as it may be. With Howe remaining, I imagine the writing is on the wall.

 

You also have to think of the player in all this too, and he needs to be happy, playing football and not being frustrated at being on the bench each week.

He's clearly got a lot of talent, and under a manager who plays to his strengths I can't see why he wouldn't do well. He's so clearly not an Eddie type striker in this rigid formation so it's becoming increasingly baffling why we actually signed him. Maybe we thought we could mould him and he would adapt but given Eddie likes runners and mobility, how exactly?

I don't get this view of he can't play out system get rid... Why not look at ways to get him in to a formation in the summer. Let's be honest after the season we've had we maybe need to look at new ideas and we won't just be able to spend a load freely so why not give him a chance.

It doesn't make sense to change your system to suit a player with more weaknesses than strengths. I don't think he's suited to the league itself, no matter which position he's in

Think that's very harsh on him, also you can play with more than one system, we did yesterday In 2nd half.

 

Give him 3 months in summer and Eddie might work with him and adapt his game.

Probably closer to a month with him given that Germany are likely to go deep in the WC.

I honestly don't believe Germany will go deep. They'll no doubt get out of the group but they'll go out to the first half decent side they face. Worst German team in my lifetime. 

 

That being said, I'm only 3 years old 👶.
