It wasn’t so much a Wissa saga as an Isak leaving saga.

Weren't we after Wissa before Isak started throwing a tantrum? I think Wolte was brought in due to Isak leaving.

The point is that it took a long time for us to replace Wilson and Longstaff, and we didn't exactly replace them with players that will grow in value. It's not necessarily meant as a criticism of the window, it's a discussion of the prospect of whether selling players at peak value is something we should be doing, and imo it's not worth it if we are only going to replace them with other players at peak value anyways.

The window proved how finding replacements isn't that easy for us (currently). Especially finding replacements that could grow a lot in value.

I fucking hate Brighton. That cuck's quotes only reinforce that. Would love to absolutely paste them like we did in 22/23 at our place.

Tbf, Brighton is a traditionally small club, they are natural cucks of the football world. In that respect, Tony Bloom is doing a grand job there. But I resent that he thinks all clubs should act like small clubs. Newcastle and Villa have every right to be ambitious and want to challenge the cartel.

We thinking Barnes in over Gordon for this one for the LW starting birth? Murphy over Elanga for the RW?

Midfield rotation?

There is zero chance we dont start Gordon. Hes one of our best players. Elanga and Murphy is a flip on a coin.

Barnes has had a free two weeks. Gordon has played twice. Zero chance is a bold call.

We need points. Barnes can play if Gordon is injured. This isnt swapping Thiaw for Schar, where the drop off is small.

If I suggested resting Woltemade for Osula, it would be similarly stupid.

What’s the team you are predicting?

Bit of a pisser if we are having to rest players because they are having all their form games during the international week.

Pope

Trippier

Thiaw

Botman

Burn

Tonali

Bruno

Joelinton

Elanga

Woltemade

Gordon

However, i wouldnt be surprised to see the same players in a 343 with Joelinton as LWB and Burn as a 3rd CB.

Agree with GK and back 4 but feel Ramsey and Barnes will start and possibly Murphy.

We’ll see though 👍🏻

Along with Bournemouth (A), this is my least favourite fixture. Any win will do but I'm 100% braced for prime Messi to shape-shift into Minteh for 90 minutes and run rings around us along with obligatory Welbeck goal.
