Crazy game.

Not a game I thought we deserved to win from the balance of play.  But we didn’t deserve for it to come like that. Similar to PSG away.

I've said it before but I'll be pissed off about PSG away for the rest of my life.

Such an incredible defensive performance ruined by an absolute bullshit penalty.

I remember a moment in the second half where the ball came to mbappe in the box and within a half a second this wall of four black and white shirts had closed up between him and the goal, it was incredible to watch.

Play the strongest team possible. I want more trophies in my life time [emoji38]

I concur.

Would be nice to see a convincing midweek win. Get a few goals up and then bring on the likes of krafth et al.

Spurs remind me of us at the start of last season. They're finding a way to win, whilst playing shite most of the time.

They are like a carbon copy of arsenal they play for freekicks and corners. Surely that can't be sustainable all season relying on set pieces for goals.

The rotation probably won’t be this extreme, based on Howe’s comments, but even if he was to go crackers he can still pick a pretty tidy looking team while resting 9 of our recent starters.

Ramsdale

Krafth

Schär

Thiaw

Burn

Willock

Tonali

Ramsey

Elanga

Osula

Barnes

Pope; Trippier, Botman; Guimarães, Miley, Joelinton; Murphy, Woltemade, Gordon

I would go with

Ramsdale

Thiaw

Krafth

Burn

Schar

Tonali

Ramsey

Willock

Elanga

Barnes

Osula

I'd play thiaw at right back and Krafth at leftback.

Or you could use Alex Murphy as a leftback.

I think Willock has to fall into the category of ‘players who need football’, which Howe referenced directly, I’m expecting him to start. Lascelles just seems to be totally out of it at the moment, but he’s another you’d think would fall into that category along with Krafth, Ramsdale, Elanga, Osula, and Barnes.

Spurs likely to rotate a fair bit as well.

It’s a hard game like, depends on how much we value the cup. If we don’t want a good chance of getting knocked out the we need a very strong team.

Surely even with changes we can be competitive and we are at home.

I don't think you're wrong really, I just feel like Miley is super young so the extra mileage won't matter much.

I also have no faith in Willock to offer anything  so I disregard it as an option

Granted Howe will not see it that way and as a manager of a football club he shouldn't so he probably will give him an opportunity here.

Right lads, a heads-up, now I think we might go with this team:

Dragusin-Romero-Davies

Tokai-Bissouma-Gray-Udogie

Kulusevski-Solanke-Maddison

Oh no wait, we can’t. They’re all out for weeks and weeks. Gray just got injured and may miss a couple of months. Christ it’s so frustrating :banghead:

Our U21s lost to Cheltenham or someone like that last night on penalties in that cup I can’t remember the name of. Our U17s had a cup match last night as well. We can’t even play any kids, although there’s a couple of 16-year-olds they might have held back.

We might just end up punting tonight tbh. My best guess:

Kinsky

Porro-Danso-VDV-Spence

Sarr-Bentancur-Bergvall

Johnson-Tel-Odobert

Then if we’re still in it we have Kolo Muani, Richarlison, Kudus and Palhinha to bring on. If we’re down you might see the kids - Byfield at CB, Luca Williams-Barnett at #10, a couple of other kids at wide forward.

We have Chelsea on Saturday so there’s a decent chance we rest VDV and Porro, play some kids and just fuck it off.

Think we would all agree that’s the best course of action for all concerned 🤝

I’ve done my ankle falling off a table at Oktoberfest. Anybody with a ticket fancy standing in the corner tonight? We can just swap the details of the ticket without forwarding (you can use at any turnstile), and I’m happy to go anywhere, including level seven
