I don't actually mind sitting on a narrow lead late on. It's just our way of doing it is crap. Flat midfield with players finding pockets of space in front of the defence. It looks poorly coached if I'm brutally honest.

Agree. The midfield form a flat bank of five out of possession, allowing one pass to take 2-3 players out of of the game.

This has been a constant theme throughout this season - it was particularly bad at West Ham.

Lads that started looked shattered towards the end. Especially Tonali in the build up to their equaliser.

Doesn't bode well for the weekend.

Felt inevitable we would concede late after those two big chances to go 1:3 up.

Felt like we were really unlucky not to win that in the end but I suppose if the same thing keeps happening over and over then it becomes less about luck and something we need to fix.

If only there were some kinda mechanism where a manager could take one knackered player from the pitch and send on a different player in his stead 🤔 ;)

Tonali was very hot and cold tonight. He’s a rolls Royce when he’s in full flight, and I don’t ever question his desire to bust a gut to work back, but last few weeks he has been proper sloppy in his general play.

Feels it’s ever since the contract news come to light. He’s held in high regard by our fans so the attention won’t be on him for some time, but he needs to buck up his ideas to warrant being a first name picked. Because he’s as much as culprit as anyone else for why we’re so shit with the ball.

Agreed. It seems there is never a true DM (pocket sitter) or two.. and so once someone presses there are gaps all over the place. Definitely a tactical issue

If you don't want to use him just leave him on the bench. 90 seconds of injury time is just bemusing.

Especially when we were just gathering some momentum again, it was like they were time wasting subs to kill the game - and they did. Really odd.

Exactly.

Great point away from home and player very well 2nd half.

Its the last minute goals that are the killer in terms of mood.

No doubt everyone will be shite again after we conceded.

It's because it's not a one off though isn't it?

In isolation, yes it's a good point (I would have taken it before KO) but looking at the season as a whole it's a continuation of a worrying trend - regularly unable to see games out, subs too late, mood killed.

Every so often you can say oh we could have gone 3-1 up, a draw is a good result etc but we've had five of these in less than six weeks.
