Glad we are still in the cup. It felt inevitable we were going out after that awful later equaliser.

But fuck me I hadn't truly appreciated our upcoming fixture list.

This game has potentially truly fucked us for the coming weeks with our fatigue and now losing Tino aswell. Feels like it will be like the 23/24 season where every player is completely shattered.

- City game where they will be fresh as daisies compared with us.

- Then wolves away few days later just as they are coming into abit of form.

- Then PSV a few days later in a must win CL game.

- Then Villa at home a few days later.

- Then PSG away a few days after that.

-Then Liverpool away a few days after that.

- Culminating then in Man City away in the cup to round off the two weeks.

:anguish: fixture computer was not kind to us.

Two successive matches I’ve no idea how to unpack.

Makes me realise why some blokes never wanted to discuss the wars they were in, feel too drained and like all the efforts, an injuries just to win two games of football don't seem worth it, even though we've prevailed in glorious manner

Want to compete - this is what you have to deal with. There's time for the club to get a couple of bodies in on-loan to bolster squad depth - maybe's some loans?

I really think we have to now. Certainly with the Schar and Tino injuries.

We have just put Botman through 120mins on his return and expect him to go again in all those coming games. It will be a miracle if even came through today without a problem with his history.

Even if he is fine it's gonna take him awhile to get back to the sharpness we need. Was poor for a few of their goals I thought.

Need left back and CB cover minimum I would think.

I genuinely wouldn’t have cried if we’d gone out today, our squad simply isn’t cut out for 4 competitions. But tell you what, buzzing we went through. I really want to do well in the FA cup.

Have to give the players a lot of credit, they’re fucking giving everything even if the quality isn’t there. They’re playing crazy amounts of football at the moment, I’ll take the wins even if they’re scrappy.

We're a mental team like, never seen anything like it. We're our own unstoppable force and immovable object rolled into one. That third goal for them sums it up. Barnes scored and rightly so like, Bournemouth were basically out for the count and we could and should have done that earlier. To then conspire to concede when they had absolutely nothing left is absolutely insane, we're so self destructive.

We won in the end and although the extra half an hour isn't ideal it would have been miles worse if we'd also not got through.

Ramsdale: 4.5 in game 8 on pens. 6.5 total

Trippier: 6 Miley: 7

Thiaw: 6.5

Botman: 5

Livramento: 6 Hall: 7

Tonali: 7

Ramsey: 6.5

Willock: 6.5

Barnes: 9

Woltemade: 6.5

Wissa: 6 Gordon: 7.5

I only joined the Toon this season, but I'm loving Toon more and more. The games are so dramatic; anything can happen right up to the final whistle, for better or for worse.

I like the mentality, I like the fans, the team spirit. It's simply fantastic.

Besides my two fellow Germans, Bruno, Barnes, and Miley have especially won me over. Hall is also close to joining my heart.

Whatever else, the team has shown great mental strength in the past two games. In both they could easily have crumbled but had the force of will to recover and get the results (however tight they were!)

Obviously a bit of my reaction is the fact that we won them, but I do think it's encouraging. We didn't give up and I'm happy about that.

It seems a bit shit working so hard to get into the Champions League and then taking the foot off for 25% of the fixtures, but could see those 2 matches taking a bit more of a back seat. It's hard to see us getting anything at PSG so it's looking like 9th to 24th, and it's kind of a lottery who you will draw in that round. Real Madrid finished 11th last season, so one of the better of the 16 playoff sides, and their reward was a tie with Man City. It looks like 10 points will be enough for a playoff spot as it is (and could be confirmed by the end of the next round of fixtures), so I could possibly see some of the Willocks, Ramseys, Elangas (if fit) etc. coming in for those matches - certainly for PSG if we don't beat PSV, but are all but confirmed a playoff spot, but yeah, it's an incredibly hectic schedule.

Extra time not ideal but good for Ramsdale and penalty scorers to have their moments. And penalty shootout experience can’t be a bad thing.

13 goals in 4 days, plus the penalties. Whew

Enjoy it because the next two weeks could be a tough watch.

Hope the majority of fans appreciate the context if we struggle and don't go right back to whinging about Howe if we come out of it with alot of defeats.
