It wasn’t just the Barnes goal though. There were just loads of times throughout said 120 minutes. Where he was singing their praises and it seemed really jarring with the timing of his comments. They’d often come when we were having a spell of dominance.
Casey
10 minutes ago, Lush Vlad said: Oh 100%. Plenty of pundits don’t like us. But the main commentator is usually pretty neutral and not biased. I do think Fletch off TNT likes us. But he’s just an excitable bloke that seems to just love football and cheers for everyone. Co-comms will always be a mixed bag. Between not giving a shit or trying to hide some kind of bias. I felt like this guy was regularly waffling on about how great Bournemouth were. Even after we started turning the screw after the bad opening. He was going on and on about how great Bournemouth had been and that they were unlucky not to be ahead. He was the same in extra time and also sounded a bit gutted when Barnes scored his second Even co-comm regulars like Lee Dixon () typically have the same shtick. I did notice it during game though, do agree. Especially fragrant when in 2nd half of ET he's harping on about how much B'mouth has been on top since it went to ET. Except we were wholly in control in first half of ET and really should've converted. Edited January 10 by Casey

Andy84
Did we play a 4-2-3-1? I really think that’s the evolution of this team with a top number

It doesn’t have to be a Newcastle game. Any game he is on. He just takes any fun out of it. A pure joy vacuum. He fancies himself as a bit of a comedian and all. But he’s painfully unfunny. Sounds like it’s a chore for him to be there.

File football commentators who lean into the whole "Woe is me this is a shit game and I have to commentate on it" under my personal football pet hates. Lawrenson pioneered it and he was cunt bubble number 1 in my books. It gets on my tits far more than it rationally should.
bobbydazzla
Fucking loved having no VAR Will happily take a few refereeing mistakes each season over the rigmarole of VAR reviews for micro-offsides etc Can actually live in the moment again Edited January 10 by bobbydazzla

Yes I’ll be raging about getting robbed, but at least it’ll be a human error made in real time and not an error made despite seeing several replays, slowed down and from different angles. That’s unforgivable.

Fuck me, I absolutely despise VAR and what it’s done to the game

Yorkie
Having watched the highlights now I don't think I've any major beef with anyone on the third goal. It was as perfectly a weighted pass as Woltemade for Barnes for our first goal. Maybe you could argue that Ramsdale should get there or Botman should be stronger, but it's just a fantastic assist. What happened to invite the situation (i.e. not seeing literally a few minutes out) is another matter. This scale of pant-shittery after every time we score absolutely must stop if we're going to achieve anything meaningful this season. Can't argue with our results but it doesn't feel sustainable imo. Surely Bruno and Tonali, with Miley a close back up, would be our 2, and it'd be pretty tough to upgrade on them. While also leaving the likes of Joelinton, Ramsey, Willock (I know) pretty much obsolete and in desperate need for a top class number 10 to rotate Woltemade with. madras
Some of us pre game were saying for all we dont want to get beat we wouldn't mind getting knocked out due to other priorities. I feel like when we get some time we'll be a lot more cohesive as it seems like we've been so disjointed so far. Im amazed we are where we are and 1 game a week now and again would reap the benefits. Remember that one of the arguments they tried to use was that there would be less focus on The refs and more on the players/game? Aye that worked out well

Even where they scored in a way, it’s a goal, fuckn deal with it instead of pathetically hoping for a VAR get out.
