SteV
Just now, The Prophet said: Linesman flagged. VAR can't get involved. Don’t think he flagged til after did he? In which case they can. But like I say, best we’re getting out of it is another free kick.
John P
Thought that was a pretty impressive showing from us tbh given the travel, the fact we can't really rotate much due to injuries, and that they had a week of rest. If Pope had got his head properly on that corner at the end it would have been one of the all time best celebrations in the away end
James
I was at the match in the Man City end. Not got the benefit of replays but overall a fair result and we did ok in many areas. City are flying and will now win the league. this was not the game to play Woltemade so deep in midfield - Willock and Ramsey were often ahead of him and then sometimes there was even Hall cutting into DM which left a bit too much space out wide. Tonali and Trippier were a class above although Tonali made some mistakes in a very disjointed midfield for the reasons set out above. Burn and Thiaw were great. I think Elanga despite all his faults did stretch their defence today but we just aren’t harnessing this right. Gordon burned bright then burned out. Ramsey was the best NUFC player on the pitch I thought albeit I was constantly confused about where he was meant to be on the pitch. Because of where I was sitting I also got a really close view of the subs warming up. Six of the outfield subs started warming up early in the first half - Murphy, Joelinton and Barnes really worked hard through their drills to ensure that they were ready when called upon. Neave, Shahar and Murphy came out and were really halfhearted and were mostly just watching from the touch lines - they clearly were not expecting to and would not be ready to be called upon - these players are either just not going to ever be good enough or the club aren’t managing them well enough. Osula did not show up until the 68th minute by my reckoning and was putting in less than half the effort Murphy was at that moment in time (and Murphy had been warming up a lot longer) for this reason I have come to the conclusion that Osula is a worthless wastrel and I can’t wait to see the back of him. Dava1892
Highlights on sky sports app are shocking. All man city half chances which led to fuck all. Noted the half time highlights during the game didn’t mention or discuss the burn offside either, go and get fucked cunts!

geordiesteve710
1 hour ago, Jackie Broon said: Don't bother to hold off a player while the ball runs out play now either, just push them into the advertising hoardings. I thought Elanga/nufc in general should have made more of that. I don't think Ait-Nourri realised the ball was still in play when he shoved him and it's a risky move. Wanted to see shouts, arms waving, him getting on the pitch then requiring treatment so VAR has time to have a look. It was a bit like Schar on Foden up here- it's a penalty by letter of law but they never get given. But fuck me did they kick up a stink and let the ref know he was on notice for his decision-making for the rest of the game. We just shrug meekly. Not saying it's corinthian, but fuck it everyone else does it.
Ashley17
An irrelevant point but I feel against these the liners flag us offside instantly whereas they let City play out attack ls for far clearer decisions. It happens every time we play them and it does my head in. Watched the first half, put my phone in airplane mode and watched the second half when I got home from a gig. Lad in front of me was browsing here at half time, sensational stuff. We had City wasting time from 60 mins, if we play them another 5 or 6 times we might nick a draw. But that was good tonight, need to back up the improvement away with a return to form at home.

You might want to rewatch Man City’s goals re Thiaw’s ‘great’ performance - he’s not great on the first, and the second is simply terrible defending
Lush Vlad
Caught in two minds about last night. On the one hand. It was far different from our usual Etihad shitshow. We were brave with our press and leaving men up. We were much better on the ball again. Like we have been for most of the last 4-5 games or so. We created bits and pieces and were unlucky with the push on Burn for the offside goal. On the other, it felt like they were there for the taking and open at the back like they have been all season. Yet it looked like we never really believed we could get something out the game. TBH, watching it in the pub. Even with half an hour left. I didn’t think we would, either. Annoying that O’Reily scores two goals from midfield and being totally unmarked, too. Said in another thread that we can’t keep gifting them soft goals. Our record there is horrendous as it is and their team is littered with talent. So the least you can do is make them work hard for openings and goals. Not start games -1. Probably more positive than negative, despite the defeat. A week or two ago, I think most would have expected the usual hammering. Yet we were still in it right until the end. If we want to be challenging for the top 5 and more in the future again. It does feel like we have to start getting results away against the big 4 now and then. DubblyDubblyDubbly
Just watched MOTD for the 1st time in years.....vomit inducing blowing smoke up Citeh and not a single mention of the Toon.
Likelylad
You get the feeling those in the media really want a title race and as such their biases really go up a level when Arsenal and City are involved.

I baled out of watching footie in 2015 partly due to officials incompetence/corruption and only recently started watching the Toon in Europe. I watched the Villa highlights to see how sh1t they still are and watched the Citeh game after the comments on here. I won't be watching again any time soon. duo
Of course MOTD make zero mention of the push on Burn they've got their title race so they're happy Edited February 22 by duo
Vaj
Rules need to be changed on fouls whilst the ball isn’t in play. You should be able to be penalised either way in my opinion. Players are taking the piss because they know there is no punishment, would help stop this ridiculous pushing and shoving
