Guess we don’t expect space in behind so Gordon might be more effective wide. Fully behind that, and we need to get Wolte going.
Smal
It could easily be Ramsey or Joelinton on the wing tbh, but I guess if Wolt is back up top the thinking would be that Everton are likely to come and sit in so we don’t necessarily need a central threat in behind. TRC
Don’t mind the team, for me it’s all about the performance now if we half arse this I’ll be fuming.
Bimpy474
Burn had a stinker the other night imo, would have preferred Botman and Thiaw myself. I think looking at Everton's corner routines, that has given Burn the edge for today.

We did beat Everton last time with Woltemade up front, and he scored. Obviously that was 3 months ago and things change. But perhaps Howe is looking at that and thinks it can work again against Everton.

Is this the first time they have started together? If he drops a little and the others run beyond him it could work really well. I think looking at Everton's corner routines, that has given Burn the edge for today. Botman looked rusty as hell and only got an hour. Burn seemed to be playing within himself. Maybe a fatigue/game management thing. Maybe because he was making sure he didn’t get booked. I’d imagine they’ll be managing Botman’s minutes, too. Seeing as he has spent most of the last two seasons or so injured or half fit.

Think this should represent the best line up for Woltemade if he’s playing up front, surround him with pace and runners going beyond him.

I think the 4231 is part of why the performances have improved though. The team is just closer to Woltemade in general and it's giving more space to Gordon as well and there seems to be greater degree of freedom. Like it could still be that, Ramsey or Joelinton on the wing wouldn't massively shock me tbh.
