Newcastle United vs. Manchester United: 4/3/26 @ 20:15 (TNT Sport)

Not really looking forward to this. Eddie must really rally the players and get them up for this. Saturday really sucked the positivity out of the whole place.

Dreading this. I haven’t got much faith we’ll pick up much from Everton. It’s important we start well because the feeling in the fan base is overall pretty low at the minute.

I also really like Sesko and was the striker I wanted us to sign this summer - I think I said as much in his thread somewhere. He’s just finding some form now and looks deadly. He’d have been fucking great here if our wingers didn’t lose the ability to create.

I've basically flat out ignored the football section since the weekend. But are people seriously implying they want us to lose so how get sacked? That unbelievably grim if so.

No, think you're misreading something somewhere.

I would like to see us go 4-4-1-1 with Woltemade playing off Gordon assuming Wissa is not fit for purpose. Put Barnes on the left and Elanga/Murphy on the right depending on which one Howe thinks will deliver. It's a simple system and you don't need to move players into unnatural positions.

Cant really remember when i was less confident about a result. (Well maybe the away leg in the carabao cup)

As it is man utd i fully expect the defeat to be as embarrassing as possible. Maybe we lead until 80min, then Pope gets a red card - ratface converts the penalty and then Sesko grabs few in injury time.

Who would have thought at the start of the season that we would be 15 points behind this lot [emoji38]

A 39 point swing. Bloody PSR.

Weird fixture, I'm not at all confident but at the same time they are gettable and it would be a massive boost if we can win.

Expect them to get some serious referee help sadly, unless we can really stay on top of them and prevent them getting into dangerous situations.

Christ. They've been not a total laughing stock for about five minutes and he's back on the charm offensive.

Ooof. That's a lazy one from you Yorkie. Friendly reminder we're unbeaten in 11 and have been in and around the CL spots all season. I've also been critical of our recent performances.

Just absolutely despise the PSR excuse.

I like you way too much.

It's not even that I hate the PSR excuse, it's that I hate when it's the only excuse.

What other excuse do you want?

Teams like Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are allowed to be shite for ages and still spend loads of money. Teams like us and Villa need to consistently hit targets to generate PSR headroom, targets which get harder to hit as the fixture list increases. Exactly what PSR is designed to do in order to ensure a handful of clubs will always dominate.

Well I've personally never said that. I put it as reason number one, comfortably, for why we've regressed but it's not the only reason.

(Reason, not excuse)

Which is fair, but it feels like Elanga has been Howe's main target for ages now. Feels like if your funds and wages were unlimited that Elanga would have still been one of the first through the door.

Feels like he's immune from criticism because of the incredible job he has done so far.
