So we have offerd £9mill + Bramble for Curtis Davies  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I can't see it happening

Not after we were on about offering Bramble a new deal

Whats the score with Babel? Was this link denied? Quite a few places have run with this story over the last couple of days.

Seems a strange one, given he isnt really the type of Striker I would have thought we would or should be after, but if true would only be a good thing, signifying that we didnt just want a big man to hoof the ball up to everytime.

I don't understand the argument about not buying players because of uncertainty over the ownership of the club. If we spend £20million on players and then got taken over how does that change anything? It's not as if the present owners will have used their own money to buy the players and the new owners will know that the £20million has been spent.

It's looking increasingly likely that the best we will get in this transfer window is a couple of loans probably signed at 23.59 on 31/01/07.

Incoming v Outgoing

Incoming

Duff 5M - 60 000 a week

Martins 10m - 50 000

Sibiearski 0m - 10 000

Outgoing

Boumsong - 3.6 - 40 000 a week

Bowyer - 500,000 - 40 000

Viana - 1.2mil - 30 000

Shearer - 0 - 100 000

Wages incoming = 120, 000

Wages outgoing = 210, 000

Transfer fees = 15mil - 5.3mil = 9.7 mil

Wages = 210 000 - 120 000 = 90 000  90 000 x 52 = 4.7 mil

Spending in summer = 5 mil

This is not including the money for Owens compensation package

I know we spent out with Owen and Luque the previous summer, however, with all the money that NUFC has coming into the club it is paramount to pittance. If we dont buy big during January there better be a productive summer.

Money is only approx, add on anything i have missed

Carew has confirmed his move to Villa.

Another player that could have done a job for us. See also Montella.

Absolute fucking masterstroke, swapping that useless alice band wearing waste of space Baros for Carew.

Gerard Houllier wants his head tested for going anywhere near Baros. He obviously didn't see him miss 3 good chances in less than 5 minutes on Saturday.

I've got a feeling Montella is going to turn out to be a good move, too.
