Not sure that corner is big enough to provide 3,000 seats.

They don't need to seat all the fans there, just a percentage.

Does it even specify what the percentage is?

"Premier League executive chairman Richard Scudamore says at least one block of away supporters will be pitchside at every game in the division from next season."

Can't see them breaking it up into two sections for policing reasons. Even if it has been done for odd Europa game previously, in those circumstances those in the Milburn Paddock area usually invited guests of the visiting club not rowdy away fans.

They'll be put in the north west corner underneath the Sky boxes. That corner holds around 3k and is the closest to Barrack Road where the away buses park up.

Away fans right next to the platinum club?  Dunno about that like

Why not? They've been there before.

Not like the Platinum Club is full of proper corporates or anything, you get a padded seat and access to a s*** bar.

The wing seats are far cheaper than the central seats anyway. When the stadium was redeveloped in 1999 they put away fans in that corner whilst charging people in the Platinum Club right next to them £71.

Just keep them where they are and fuck off this totally shit and pointless rule.

I'd prefer it if we were just stubborn and gave them one small block in a corner somewhere and kept the rest in Level 7, which would ruin the atmosphere for them further and go against everything they want to achieve by doing it.

I think it's a proper shit rule. Can see why they're doing it but it's all to improve the Sky product. Sky having more influence on the game. The way atmospheres should be improved is by introducing singing sections with flags and displays and driving down the pricing of tickets as they're ultimately irrelevant these days in terms of finances anyways. Have ssfw standing sections and increase a stands capacity by 50%+ and they'll cover their losses. Make home stadiums feared rather than away fans rocking up and putting their feet under the table the cocks

Agree 100% with those last 2 posts like.

 Likewise. English football needs to copy what football is like in Germany in terms of fans; ticket prices, standing areas, et cetera. Not going to happen, like.

 Especially as ticket sales revenue isn't even that important to PL clubs anymore

The product is the premier league and sky bids the highest amount to showcase the product in the uk therefore this decision has nothing to do with sky and all about the Premier League.

Stick them in the east stand corner where they used to be.

Remember reading that that corner only holds 1,800, unless you brought the fans around further into the Leazes End.

The rule is fucking stupid, pointless and our stadium just isn't configured for it. Stick the middle finger up to this shit rule and keep the utter mongs up in L7.

The product is the Premier League but it's Sky who sell it. The people who "manufacture" this product want more sales and therefore Sky and television companies are the issue as they bear the most influence on the funding of this product.

Away fans generate more atmosphere and that makes the game more appealing which is a fact. However, it's simplistic and naive to make the move that they are. Home fans have been disrupted and dissected for years because of increased pricing, policing and regulations which are simply too old for the modern game. We should have been proactive and did what Germany have done. Instead now we must be reactive.

FWIW I think we both / all agree on that
