The source is very solid in terms of their integrity. I’m just not sure how they’d know. Connections to the club sure but I just thought it would be flying around everywhere by now if true (I’m not on any social media).

It is now :troll:

Anyone else heard this rumour flying around about us definitely moving?

Honestly, I think it’s just people listening to what the club says, and articles on the subject, and coming to their own conclusions.

70k super stadium would transform the city and create a real buzz.

Big window at one end framing the newly renovated park and city centre beyond would set it apart from anything in this country.

Yeah, what would be nice is if the Sela site was retained, but with permanent buildings instead of shipping containers. Leazes Park now starts where the Gallowgate is, and there is a wide path leading from the Sela park, over the Strawberry Road, which is now a low traffic/speed limit road. As you enter the Leazes Park from where the Gallowgate is, each side of the path has those old SJP gates permanently open. The old SJP site is landscaped, with wide paths leading through the older part of Leazes Park, to the new stadium on Castle Leazes.

Fantastic addition to the match day atmosphere was rocking yesterday.

How much money do we think Stack is going to be making us each matchday when you take away costs? £50k? £100k?

There are a canny few people in that place 3 hours before kick off, and I imagine it'll be the same afterwards, god forbid we play a Saturday tea time game

Do we not have to work on the basis that if Leazes Park or Castle Leazes was going to be the option then the consultation would already have been done? Find it hard to believe that they could keep it quiet, and equally hard to believe that they're going to announce their plan only to be potentially stymied by Ethel and Wilbur subsequently complaining about green spaces

I don't know, I just feel like if that was going to be the option and an announcement is 'imminent' then we would, one way or another, already know by now that they had been seriously considering it.

Not necessarily there might be numerous private conversations taking place with Council/Freemen.

Could the council and freemen do it unilaterally without consulting on planning though? Wouldn't have thought so, but I might be wrong

It would be private conversations at this stage will be a long way to go even when feasibility study is released, planning application is a long way off in my opinion, a lot of consultation will take place first if they go that route.

We will know soon. For something as big as that maybe NDAs are in place. I know you're desperate to stay at St James'

Moving to Castle Leazes wouldn't be the end of the world for me :)

This is what I'm saying though, I find it hard to believe they'll go so far as saying We Want To Build On Leazes Park Or Castle Leazes without already having sorted it - I just don't see them making the mistake of going public then being beaten by the Fenham Grass Fanciers Brigade like what happened last time.  If it's as imminent as they're making it sound, I would have thought that public consultation would already be done and out of the way but I just don't see how it could be done and kept quiet.

The other scenario of course is that it's not actually that imminent

Heard nothing with regards to contact with the Freemen. Next meeting Xmas so might hear something then but I’d imagine it be out the bag by then anyway.

Already had one. Thought it was average. Had a look around on Thursday. Plastic cups, slightly overpriced scran when you have cheaper, better alternatives in walking distance.

I'll not be a regular. Definitely not on a matchday.
