St James' Park

My guess is ground sharing isn't an option.

PSR rules the waves so we can't take the dip. Not for 3-4 years.

We've the Euros as well.

It's a new ground and wether you want to move or not the new ground will be awesome.

My guess, again, is Castle Leazes or Exhibition Park (opposite the North Terrace)

We'll see.

Aye, don’t see why we would hate the Freeman.

Surely without them we would just have an urban mess of developed land, no public parks, and no hoppings, which actually enabled us to enter the competition we last won.

Fairly big development if conversations have taken place with Freemen, first real sign there seriously exploring the option.

Makes perfect sense to move, a rebuild of St James just looks very complicated and don’t think there’s any viable option of playing anywhere else whilst work takes place.

Could we not just build a temporary 48,000 stadium like they one they built for Qatar world cup from shipping containers. Not sure how long that took to build but you could build it anywhere local. Must be a better option then having to go to Sunderland 19 times a season

Where would be the most suitable option for us to ground share?

Sunderland maybes cannot see there owners turning down the extra business.

Doubt the police would want thousands of NUFC fans in Sunderland every other week.

While all the stadium costs are confidential, it isn’t thought to have cost much less than a regular build of similar size.

There is zero chance of PIF pouring hundreds of millions into a ground which would be used for a season, or two at most.  Spending £250m and bringing in £70m isn’t even on the table.

It is move or a small extension to SJP (if that is possible).

Wherever they decide to temporarily play, I just hope it's most convenient for me if not it's a terrible decision by the club and especially Mitchell.

has anyone suggesting the stadium of shite, ever been to the stadium of shite? it's fucking shite. not being dramatic but I'd rather kill myself than go there every other week

Would our season ticket holders be fine with only getting to go to every other home game (at a reduced price obviously) for a season, if it meant SJP was getting a big upgrade? I kind of get the feeling that a lot would be quite upset about it, if it was to happen.

Isn't the whole point of Option C (Leazes Park), that it's phased construction so only the Leazes End would need to close?

What do other clubs normally do when they're expanding and need to close a stand?

It would be a lot easier to get NUFC fans to the SoL than you might think. The stadium is on the opposite side of the river to the city centre, therefore the police could just barricade any access to the other side of the river where all of the bars and shops are. The stadium itself is an easy journey down the A19 and along Wessington Way, so straight in and straight out without fuss.

This idea that the area would be a battleground is a total nonsense. The first few matches there might be a handful of wannabe hoolies but once the novelty wears off it would be a non event.

If we go to a new stadium, we will get a load of backlash from season ticket holders who don’t want to move.

The alternative however, is that they either pay £1,000-£1,500 for their season tickets, which they will kick off at, or they have their season tickets suspended whilst work at SJP is ongoing. There is also a possibility that they would be subjected to both.

It’s not really a realistic possibility though. We wouldn’t get away with building on that part of Leazes Park.
