It was put to the club during consultations, and also relayed to NUST who also put it to the club. The queue system works for people who can either get away from work for nearly an hour or more at 10am, or have an office job where they can do it as they work. It was no good for anyone else. Also, they said that the Stack vote isn’t official, but just to see where fans minds are at, and it’s clear that the balance is shifting or has shifted to a new stadium. They will do a more in depth, and official consultation with fans in the new year. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

For a second there I thought we may have been paying our Chief Execs and various managing directors for absolutely nothing when we could just put everything to a vote in front of pissed up radgies in-between Sweet Caroline and Seven Nation Army

I think the decision (a new stadium on Castle Leazes) has possibly been made for a while and work towards that is happening in the background. Minhosa
Been a concerted and low key PR push towards a new stadium for a while imho.

Stifler
Yes there has, but I don’t think what has been said is false. At the end of the day, if they turn around and try to put it at the Racecourse, then fans will not stand for it. If it’s at Castle Leazes/Leazes Park, fans will accept it. et tu brute
A new stadium will get the majority vote now in any case. It's an absolute no brainer in every way. The decision has already been made anyway, they are just cleverly slowly rolling it out. Even Howe when he was last asked about the stadium had changed tune. bobbydazzla
Should build a new stadium but also leave the current SJP in situ so middle aged blokes can go up there and sit in silence or grumble to themselves whilst avoiding the distress of going shopping with the wife. Let them carry on doing the same thing they’ve been doing for the last 20 years but without a football match spoiling their me time Edited 13 hours ago by bobbydazzla

patrone
It's all decided, and regardless of what or where, there will be as many whinge as there are love it. Eales/Silverstone and the others said the same about the ticket situation, there's no decision that will make everyone happy. Oh and Paul Mitchell comes across really really well

timeEd32
Great thread on Reddit today of new NFL stadiums that were built next to existing ones. Seems appropriate given where this may be heading: Atlanta Chicago (new built inside of old) Houston Philly (clockwise from bottom - new NFL, new NBA/NHL, old NBA/NHL, old NFL/baseball, new baseball) New York (New Jersey) The thing that stands out the most is the size of the new ones when capacity isn't all that different. For example, the last one only has 2k more seats. It's suites and facilities.
Whitley mag
MetLife stadium hasn’t aged well considering how recently it was built and stadiums that followed not long after, would be a bit gutted if I was Jets/Giants fan. As much as it’s a new stadium for me it can’t be a soulless bowl surrounded by car parks off the A1. Edited 12 hours ago by Whitley mag

When someone says soulless bowl that is the stadium that comes to mind for me.

Also cannot think of one club that have improved dramatically on the back of moving to a new stadium. Would give you Brighton actually, but they were playing at an athletics stadium prior to that characterless monstrosity they have now.
