Yes there has, but I don’t think what has been said is false.

At the end of the day, if they turn around and try to put it at the Racecourse, then fans will not stand for it. If it’s at Castle Leazes/Leazes Park, fans will accept it.

A new stadium will get the majority vote now in any case. It's an absolute no brainer in every way. The decision has already been made anyway, they are just cleverly slowly rolling it out. Even Howe when he was last asked about the stadium had changed tune.

Should build a new stadium but also leave the current SJP in situ so middle aged blokes can go up there and sit in silence or grumble to themselves whilst avoiding the distress of going shopping with the wife.

Let them carry on doing the same thing they’ve been doing for the last 20 years but without a football match spoiling their me time

It's all decided, and regardless of what or where, there will be as many whinge as there are love it.

Eales/Silverstone and the others said the same about the ticket situation, there's no decision that will make everyone happy.

Oh and Paul Mitchell comes across really really well

Is Stifler actually Adam P?

Get to fuck.

My voice isn’t as deep as I’d like it to be, but it’s not like the dog whistle he has. Additionally I grow a pretty decent beard, unlike the flour dust off a loaf bread that he grows.

Great thread on Reddit today of new NFL stadiums that were built next to existing ones. Seems appropriate given where this may be heading:

Atlanta

Chicago (new built inside of old)

Houston

Philly (clockwise from bottom - new NFL, new NBA/NHL, old NBA/NHL, old NFL/baseball, new baseball)

New York (New Jersey)

The thing that stands out the most is the size of the new ones when capacity isn't all that different. For example, the last one only has 2k more seats. It's suites and facilities.

MetLife stadium hasn’t aged well considering how recently it was built and stadiums that followed not long after, would be a bit gutted if I was Jets/Giants fan.

As much as it’s a new stadium for me it can’t be a soulless bowl surrounded by car parks off the A1.

It’s awful. The location is bad enough but it’s like they didn’t even try. When someone says soulless bowl that is the stadium that comes to mind for me.

All devoid of character

Cannot think of any football stadium built post 2000 that have any character.

Also cannot think of one club that have improved dramatically on the back of moving to a new stadium. Would give you Brighton actually, but they were playing at an athletics stadium prior to that characterless monstrosity they have now.

In order to evolve we will have to settle for tough decisions, generations will have felt similar in times gone by, the future of this club is huge, and can be grown into something remarkable.

You'd like to think if the Saudis are behind a new stadium design it's going to be on a different level, lots of their architecture/structures are magnificent.

I'd like to think somehow the current SJP could be developed into something connecting, or used as the womens stadium?

No idea, just be gutted to see it flattened.

Fingers crossed the plan is for a new stadium it's literally the only option that makes any sense.

It definitely is the plan. Tonight looked pretty clearly about seeking permission to go for it. They're obviously nervous about the reaction so they're doing their best to make it go well.

It's good that they're nervous, mind - we should be doing all we can to use that and make sure the result is top class in every way.

Absolutely it has to beat in the world and without compromise as they have stated that's what the ambition is.

I'm hoping this is precisely what they do and it's a starting point to transforming the region.
