FFP isn't going to change any time soon and with more teams being American owned its more likely things will become trickier for us financially and not less. However, I think the academy is higher priority in any event because that is where the most money can be moth made and saved. No, I'm buying tickets match-to-match. I'm not convinced a new ground would lead to loads more affordable season tickets tbh.

Season tickets work out cheap so even 20 to 30 pounds more a ticket makes a huge difference in income. Put it this way, I'd be ok at 2-3 games a year at 50-60 quid. Doesn't matter if it's SJP or a new ground ticket prices are only going up.
RobsonsWonderland
15 hours ago, Stifler said: Spurs ground is nerfed because of how many tourists they sell tickets too. Everywhere I go now online, there is a fucking advert for Spurs tickets from a football holiday package provider. A lot of Spurs fans are also jacking it in because of prices, and because of protests against Levy/ENIC. If we stay at SJP, even with a Gallowgate expansion, it would only increase our chances of it being filled by tourist due to how high ticket prices will become, and the fact that season tickets will never go on sale again. The tourist percentage at spurs will always be higher due to it being one off the many things they could add to their trip whilst visiting London. Ours would be for the sole purpose of the game so I can't imagine the numbers being that high week in, week out. It's more likely to be local people who can't commit to a season ticket. Disco
The Asian lads and lasses at non London grounds are inevitably students btw, especially City. Fair play to them if they’re getting stuck into their new local team and getting involved. Manchester has one of the biggest international student markets in the UK and from personal experience I know loads of the international students studying up here like to get to a game if they can. Kid Icarus
Doing the Premier League and each club's PR departments jobs with that absolute nonsense like. Having a problem with our club and football as a whole becoming a tourist attraction is a perfectly valid position.

My issue is the clubs being focused on these “customers” more than the long term local lifeblood of these clubs. Seems to have been a huge skew in interest and bending over for megastore trolley dashers who’ll sit politely viewing the game through their phone rather than groups of likeminded “legacy fans” who’ll actually get behind the team. How are they bending over for them? Seems to me they are just trying to grow the fan base as that increases revenue which we need to compete

Bending over, catering to, targeting, growing the fanbase. All different ways of expressing the same outcome.
TomYam
5,000 tourists at an expanded St.James's or new stadium may not have a positive impact on the match atmosphere but it'll certainly have a positive impact on the club's finances and city economy. You win more than you lose although it's another example of football as business and moving away from its community roots.
Dr Jinx
Any new or existing stadium should have a system hooked up that reads decibel levels and displays it to the crowd like a sort of power bar. It would become it's own thing.. one club does it and the rest will follow. Supporters trying to outdo each other etc.

I used the modal verb 'may' to denite the possibility that the atmosphere could be affected negatively. I suspect there'd be very little difference. Miggys First Goal
Should just pipe in fan noise through the PA system and then those people actually in the stadium can just sit in silence.

When I was in China I was a regular at Guizhou Renhe. I was warmly welcomed and even got a fairwell tab from the lead ultra when I said it was my last game. Like to think we're welcoming any adopted geordies getting stuck in. As a foreign fuck I have to say I always feel very welcome in Newcastle. Except maybe after the Milan CL game where I was interrogated by a local knuckledragger who wanted to know all matches I had been attending at SJP before the takeover, luckily I passed the test😂
