If we had some waxxa new bars and food places in a new stadium in the city centre, some people may choose to drink or eat in the ground who currently go to boozers and restaurants in town

But on the flipside, there'd be 20-30,000 more people going into town to go the match at our expanded 70-80,000 capacity stadium so the boozers and restaurants in town will have more potential customers pre and post match

It's not like town would have tumbleweed blowing through empty streets just because there's a decent burger hatch and some hazy IPA on draught on the Gallowgate concourse

Let's think glass half full comrades

Plenty of stadiums in the USA are able to do it as well.

It’s entirely possible.

To be fair it’s very very expensive over here to get those contracts. We got quoted a mill to “open the conversation” to get a kiosk for our brewery at the baseball stadium here in Denver.

To be fair, you could argue that they don’t want to work with local companies and just want McDonalds to come in and cater them.

If they want to do it, then it would be possible to work with local companies. As I said, they probably have a general idea of what they use right now, and anyone going into the catering side of it would need to do a forecast and possibly have a few matches where they need to get it right.

It’s entirely possible to do, it just comes down to will.

Had the stadium tour earlier. Very interesting and enjoyed it. The home dressing room is really impressive.

They’re better than any soulless changing rooms a new stadium would bring.

Some people just don't like change and will use any available angle to argue against it. I'm sure the same was said when it became possible to buy a pint at the match.

Would like them to scrap pints at the stadium tbh. Maybe fewer people would leave early at HT. Can’t get pints at Scotland home games and don’t think it’s missed at all.

Tbh there is no reason each seat can't have a tube and an app/order screen.

It's then delivered via this method. Unfortunately not for beer cos of the rules. But should still cut down.

They do it in the USA so no reason why not here.

Should definitely be allowed to bring your drink to your seat. I wouldn’t buy one anyway probably, but to sell pints, charge high prices and treat the customers like children is definitely not how it should be.

Wouldn’t need to leave early or smash a pint in 5 minutes.

Not sure I'd be a fan of it to be honest. You'd have daft lads throwing them allover when we score

I’m not a drinker, but I’ve thought that there is an argument to be allowed a drink in the stands, even if it there is a restriction on how many you are allowed to buy on each ticket until full time.

However the trend to launch you drink since the 2018 World Cup has just put any argument for drinking in the stands back a few steps.

For me football is too fast paced and personally I'm too nervous to safely drink pints at my seat... even in the house I guzzle the them watching us.

Cricket is perfect for watching with a beer, I imagine Rugby too but never watched it whereas football I think you're either too invested or the impact of a goal, decision is too high for drinking in the stands.

I don't follow US sports mega closely but I can imagine NFL and MBL being better to watch with a beer than NBA for similar reasons but as always happy to be educated by those who know more

Rugby is basically the same as football but the fans are trusted because they’re more posh and the culture is different.

I think that’d be worse, there’d be people streaming in and out getting pints all match.

I’ve been abroad where you can order at your seat and there’s people talking to servers and passing pints across you when you’re trying to watch the match.

I complain about people leaving at HT early for pints but I prefer that to what they have. Prob my ideal would be sell them pre-match but stop when the game starts.

Pints ranking:

Scotland (none)

England (concourse only)

Europe (pints allowed at seat or brought to seat)

Yet rugby tarquins and henrys quite happily drink each other's piss. Funny old game

NFL is lethal.  Tailgate first, then get in the ground and just get tanked up for 3.5 hours.  Although I think you get restricted to one beer per person from the 3rd quarter and no beers in the 4th quarter.  The damage has already been done

Still can't understand the idea of the actual football match not being the sole focus of the whole day. The idea of people going to the match in the first place only to then spend loads of the time drinking on the concourse, smoking/vaping, stuffing their fucking faces is completely alien to me.

The match is the only reason I'm there. I'll arrive just before kick off and I'll leave soon after the final whistle as that's my only focus. I appreciate if you're in corporate then it's a different matter completely. I also appreciate young kids might need a bit to eat or drink but can't understand why grown adults go to the match only to miss lots of the match, it baffles me. It's none of my business, they've paid their money but I'll never understand any of the logic behind it
