Another consideration re a new stadium is naming rights.  Much to Mike Ashley’s chagrin, SJP is SJP regardless of any attempt to have a stadium sponsor.  A brand new stadium opens up real naming rights benefits.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m as romantic as they come when it comes to football - I don’t like the commercialism the game now attracts.  But I’m also aware that the real world operates in a different way from the one in my head.  A new ground in five or six years time would allow the owners to get maximum value in the market - likely with a KSA company splashed all over it.

I want something new , state of the art and a bit mental . Huge hundred foot statues at the 4 corners of the ground depicting Milburn Keegan Shearer and Bobby Robson as in this pic from LOTR

Maybe have Milburn, Keegan and Shearer on three of them, then a fourth plinth like Trafalgar Square with new statues every so often.  Voted on by the supporters.

There is a danger that my dad and his mates vote for Tony Green every year, mind.

Ain’t getting no marble clad stadium. Marble can’t cope with the climate, water gets in and it cracks.

That picture frame structure in Paris was originally clad with Marble, but after a few years it stated cracking and chunks were falling off it.

Re: the Magic weekend, I do believe that the RFL are looking at the calendar (or IMG are anyway) and this may make the weekend in the longer term. BUT I think to some extent the recent public comments are about trying to cut themselves a better deal.

Need AI robot waiters at the canteen either at the stadium or the training ground looking like Steve Bruce.

No plans to move stadium. Expansion yes.

Perfect!

Expansion to the new stadium would be fine as long as I thought I could get in once it was done. I just don't think we could add enough seats to make that likely unless we build a new stadium.

The other option is to wait until we are shit again, then a 52k stadium will be plenty big enough.

Getting set up for Sam Fender at the weekend . . .

Sam Fender Stage at St James' Park - setting up, 8th June 2023.jpg

My seats are in the level 7 corner of the Milburn and Leazers, I could not be further away looking at that photo. My view will be not much better than that drone.

I’m basically in the away end - last block before the screen.

There was one of those on Twickets but I didn't bother, thought it would be a bit far removed. That said, I saw Jay Z once and he was like a dot in the distance, still loved the show.

It's for the wife really, I'm just there to enjoy the warm, overpriced, flat lager in a plastic cup

Can't wait to inject any stadium expansion plans right into my veins. Hope the wait isn't too long.

I hope the sound system is sorted out

Against Leicester it was ridiculously loud, annoying especially when he played that blitzkrieg bop fucking shit.  I think half the ground got tinnitus that day.
