ponsaelius Posted Tuesday at 15:49 Share Posted Tuesday at 15:49 All modern stadiums look bland. However to me it looks like a football stadium, with four clearly defined stands, where the focus is entirely on football. Can't say I felt the same about Spurs' stadium. Kid Icarus Posted Tuesday at 16:13 Share Posted Tuesday at 16:13 Inside I think it looks good tbh, I like the window allowing for light to come through. Outside it reminds me of the Manta Force spaceship from when I was a kid, which I don't mind.
Stifler Posted Tuesday at 18:58 Share Posted Tuesday at 18:58 The big question I’d have to ask would you trade SJP for Everton’s new stadium? Honestly I wouldn’t. The capacity is only marginally better, and I don’t think it offers anything or can do anything that SJP can’t. It looks good from the outside, but when you get closer and inside, it’s bland and a bit bare.

Basically in the same place, much bigger and money won't be a barrier so it'll be completely state of the art. There's a strong chance ours will be the best in European football, even world football. For a period of time anyway.

I honestly think it could have been, and should have been a bit more. In saying this, I’m not quite sure them lot down the road would swap either, especially when in theory they could have a bigger capacity. Yeah true, it definitely looks like something that could have been built years ago rather than a mid-20s build but I still think it'll be a good job for them. As long as the corporate and VIP stuff are good they'll get plenty of corporate revenue from it, and they'll get concerts. With Anfield though they'll not have the monopoly over concerts and maybe they should have factored that into it. Goodison, while iconic in English football, was a dive though and Everton fans will be rightly over the moon with the new place. FWIW I think the atmosphere will be good there. Will judge when fully finished and I visit it next season. If the pitch views are brilliant and acoustics excellent then not much else needed really. Everton fans on the whole seem to love it already.
Ben Posted Tuesday at 20:04 Share Posted Tuesday at 20:04 I met the top guy from Haas UK last year and he was such an inspirational guy, obviously very rich and he works in Uni's in his spare time with the designer graduates. His train of thought is to, think big, think like money or infrastructure or Physics is no object, what would you build............and work back from there
Danh1 Posted Tuesday at 22:13 Share Posted Tuesday at 22:13 Re the capacity at Everton’s stadium. Can it easily be extended? 53k isn’t really a massive increase considering their fanbase.

However can go to 62000 if safe standing legislation changes over the coming years apparently. Edited Tuesday at 22:17 by LFEE

LFEE Posted Tuesday at 22:19 Share Posted Tuesday at 22:19 I wonder if we’d go down similar route? 70K but safety access in place to increase safe standing if allowed to 80K+ Would be a smart move if so.

Obviously, they might well do if they started challenging towards the top end of the league, but if they remained similar to what they are now? I suppose they probably do. Most established PL teams do nowadays. West Ham don’t have much bother filling their stadium (although often not for the full 90…) but that is London. loki679 Posted Tuesday at 22:47 Share Posted Tuesday at 22:47 Good acoustics might not be a positive with their fans though.

Get asked the same question about us and 75/80/85k/100k! 🤷🏼♂️ Who knows when we are talking about the next 100 years of a sport. Would certainly fancy their chances for Oasis/Coldplay/Swift etc. Boxing very popular in the NW also.

Think it'll be a bit of a mare getting in and out since it's bang on the river. Give me that ground in our location with 75k and I'd be delighted.
