One of the worst away days if you head to the stadium area for a few pre match scoops. Witton I think they call it, fucking tragedy.

Aye you’re not wrong, drove down last year and nowhere near the ground would let in. Nearly got in one until they realised we were NUFC, they were charging to get in. Bog standard boozer.

What doesn’t it address? More seats, bigger concourse, more bars/bogs no doubt. I cannot see what else is needed.

Don’t think it looks the best internally, would’ve been class one big, steep stand. However, I don’t think it’s horrendous. I would much rather see us redevelop than move to a new build, and I don’t think Villa will regret not doing that.

Everton fans’ opinions in a season or two time will be interesting.

You have to remember that they are wanting to be a giant of a club.

25 years ago SJP with a new capacity of 52k became the 2nd biggest club stadium in the country, well 2nd biggest football stadium considering Wembley was being demolished. Next season it will become the 12th biggest club stadium, so basically a lower half average Premier League stadium.

A 50k capacity doesn’t get Villa to where they want to be. On top of this they are taking out some corporate seats which is a PSR requirement these days.

Currently Aston Villa do well on concerts and other events, but Birmingham City are about to build a purpose built 60k seater stadium which will be aiming to take away the other events from Villa Park.

These plans are also a much diluted version of plans they lodged a few years ago, which would have be a starting point for a full redevelopment of Villa Park.

In short, it would be akin to us extending the Gallowgate, whilst Sunderland built a new stadium fit for the modern era.

New Villa plans, compared to old.

Last visit was in the champo, we spent an hour trying to get in a pub round there, no chance. Said fuck it, we'll go in early, got in and the bar was pop only. There was Toon fans trying to get out 😂

From a competitive standpoint I love that their expansion plans are still less capacity than SJP.

All of West Midlands clubs are grim days out and unwelcoming for away fans.

I’ve never been to Villa but Wolves and Stoke were quite enough thank you.

Their fans must think they’ve died and gone to heaven when they come to Newcastle

Its the opposite in non-league. Loads of great trips out there, bookended with some pints near New Street Station.

As we are a football club I want our home to be our home, and not geared towards concerts or the NFL, which everyone on Twitter seems to have an obsession with.

Birmingham won’t build a huge stadium and if they do, it’ll be varnigh empty. Villa will be playing games in their traditional home at the same time.

Done Villa, Birmingham and Wolves which were shite. West Brom was decent in fairness, big boozer near the ground let us in, can’t think of the name.

Done Walsall away with Brighton, they won the league that day. We drank around NS and it was great. Only time I’ve been round there.
