stozo
The Mirror (it might have been the People actually, can't remember) says that we are close to agreeing a £2m fee with Leeds for 16-year old Daniel Rose. If you remember he was the 3rd kid that Chelsea tried to poach last year but opted to stay with Leeds instead.
Guest anthony118
Can't say I've heard of him. Is he any good?
NUFC06
Daniel Rose (born July 2, 1990) is a young footballer currently playing his trade with Leeds United. An aggressive, Alan Smith style attacking midfielder, Rose was recently involved in the saga involving Chelsea and Leeds where Chelsea allegedly tried to tap dance up three of Leeds' youth team. Tom Taiwo and Michael Woods both accepted offers from Chelsea, whereas Rose decided to stick with Leeds. Leeds' chairman Ken Bates revealed he has made an official complaint to the FA regarding Chelsea's illegal approaches. The situation was eventually resolved with Chelsea agreeing to an estimated £15million in compensation. Rose scored an amazing 25-yard goal against Stoke Reserves on the 8/11/2006. Leeds Reserves, however, lost 2-1. Rose has yet to make his professional debut for Leeds, but was given a place on the bench for the Yorkshire outfit in the Carling Cup First Round tie with Chester City on August 22, 2006. Rose has been named in the England under-17 squad for the forthcoming Algarve Tournament.

Nate
DANNY'S NEW BOY IN TOON NEWCASTLE are poised with a £2million bid for Leedswonder boy Danny Rose - the last of the Elland Road young hopes. England youth player Rose, 16, was the odd-boy-out in the deal which took Michael Woods and Tom Taiwo to Chelsea in a controversial transfer a year ago. He chose to stay but Toon chairman Freddy Shepherd is ready to splash out for the attacking midfielder, who is already starring for Leeds reserves. Leeds will look for about £2m in compensation, based on the cash they got from Chelsea for Woods and Taiwo, when chairman Ken Bates drove a hard deal after threatening FA action against the champions. Newcastle are expected to tie up the deal within the next few weeks to take Rose into the Premiership.
James
I think that is a good and fair deal for Leeds, and a bit ofa risk for us, but suggests we still have money to spend.
Yorkie
Well it sounds promising, and it certainly fits in with Roeder's transfer policy. If he has the talent, which he obviously does, i'm up for it.

Skirge
A lot of money on a risky young player, but I think young kids with talent are worth the punt, rather spend it on a young players than on a 30 odd yearold has been.

Guest Morph
That 'B@astard' character over there seems a canny bloke. Some of the comments though are fucking stupid. They're going down into the third tier of english football, how the hell can they expect to keep any of their half decent players?

Guest Knightrider
£2mil could buy us a whole new squad, capable of a decent league position in league 1. Fucking hell! No matter how shite we are, it could be worse.
