James
Now that a cash injection seems likely, we can seriously talk about a few silly players that would have otherwise been considered as waaay down our list of priorities. How about Julio Baptista, Arsenal cant afford to keep him (going rate is toohig for a squad player there), and Real Madrid dont want him, so he's going to be somewhere new next season. He would add some real power and muscle and battle to the team, and could potentially be used as a third striker, with him slotting into a midfield position when called upon. He would definitely bring a flexibility to our starting lineup, as well as improving the quality.
Menace
He said he found the North East shit, so he wouldn't come here.
GM
Oh what a super idea for a thread, Melonhead! Nikola Vidic, David Suazo, Rene Gattuso, Phillipe Mexes, Willy Sagnol, Franck Ribery and Karim Benzema for starters. blueyes.gif
Sparks
Arsenal don't want him is more like the reality. He won't come here to be a squad player and he doesn't appear to be able to adapt to the pace of the premiership, plus his finishing is only slighlty better Dyer's. Newcastle Fan
Arsenal don't want him is more like the reality. He won't come here to be a squad player and he doesn't appear to be able to adapt to the pace of the premiership, plus his finishing is only slighlty better Dyer's. He can be a good player if given time to adapt, and we can't afford that Agree though, his rejection by Arsenal might be because they know he won't cut it here, Wenger hardley gives up on someone (he considers Adebayor a first team player ffs) and when he does its a sign of the player being not good enough.. Delima
NO ! Anyway it is unlikely he would like to move to a place he dislikes so much.

Guest Guinness
Don't think he's anything special to be honest, he's been pretty woeful for Arsenal this season. He'd probably command a high transfer fee and wages as well.

Munkey
in all fairness, he wasn't given a long run in the side (sounds like people justifying Luque's existence) or a run in 1 position. but still, shouldn't buy the bugger.
Mick
Can we have Tevez instead? I'll take him, add Samuel Eto'o who has only had good things to say about us, we can dream.

SAK
Can we have Tevez instead? I'll take him, add Samuel Eto'o who has only had good things to say about us, we can dream. Still remeber under Robson we were linked with Eto'o when he was at Mallorca but many on the board said he wasn't good enough based on a Uefa cup match we had against Mallorca. Can only dream what could have been. Then again he could have come here and never hit the heights he has. To answer the question about Baptista he had a dig about clubs from the North East using long ball tactics. So no.

toontownman
Actually thought Arsenal got the better deal when Reyes engineered his move out. Strange how neither teams want either player now!
nufcjmc
i would take reyes over baptista any day but sure we can be abit more picky than this
toontownman
Agreed, although Reyes is another player that probably wont ever end up back in the premiership again.
