Why did he fkn lie about it for so long, everyone at Barca saying he had agree'd to join them and Henry and the Gunners denying it, going to be a panic now for clubs to hold onto their strikers, Tevez abd Martins will both be targets I reckon..

Its going to be Owen Or Martins if its not Tevez, West Ham can try and keep Tevez though by refusing to sell, where as we are well fkd thanks to Freddy and his get out clause's. The fkn incompitent fool has fkd us big time, Martins may decide he wnats to stay even if a £13mill offer is amde but Owen will run like a bastard to London if Wenger makes the £9mill bid.

Gunners are set to strike

Jun 23 2007

By Alan Oliver, The Evening Chronicle

Newcastle United are bracing themselves for an Arsenal swoop for either Michael Owen or Oba Martins to replace skipper and top striker Thierry Henry, who is set for Spanish giants Barcelona in a £17m deal.

However, it could all hinge on whether Gunners' boss Arsene Wenger is still in charge at the Emirates Stadium with the Frenchman tipped to join Henry at the Nou Camp or replace Fabio Capello at the Bernabeu - despite Real Madrid beating their great rivals Barca to the Spanish title this week.

What will make it a lot easier for Arsenal to snatch Owen or Martins from United is the fact the two United stikers have £9m and £13m get-out clauses in their contracts at St James' Park.

United have come under fire for these get-out clauses but this was something both players and their agents demanded as part of their transfer deals to United - and at the time Newcastle were desperate to sign both forwards.

Sven-Goran Eriksson has made it clear he would love to sign Owen if he takes over as boss of Manchester City but why would the England striker want to switch to City - apart from the fact it is nearer his home in Chester?

Arsenal, tough, are a different proposition and Wenger has never hid his admiration for both Martins and Owen. When United were at the Emirates in November, he waxed lyrical about the Nigerian striker in his match-day programme.

In the return fixture at St James' Park on Easter Monday, Wenger asked Glenn Roeder as they left the ground if he intended to play Martins and Owen together in the United side next season - and the answer was in the affirmative.

Wenger's parting shot was that if Roeder was not going to do that, he would be willing to take either striker off the Magpies.

Now it is all out of United's hands, but at least things are starting to happen at St James's Park with the Chronicle revealing today new billionaire owner Mike Ashley has ordered a boardroom shake-up so he can bring in his own people.

If United are to lose Owen or Martins I would love to see them make a late bid for Darren Bent, who looks certain to leave Charlton Athletic even though he is over-priced at £16m.

Spurs are the favourites to sign Bent - but the striker has always made it clear he would love to move to St James' Park.

One player who looks as though he is already going to finally make the move to United is Paris-St Germain's Czech international defender David Rozehnal in a £3.5m switch to St James' Park.

Rozehnal's agent Pavel Zika is the one who is saying he deal is done subject to a medical early next week, although neither United nor PSG have yet confirmed this.

Must be devestating? Just shows Henry as he is, I like it. Puts Owen in a better light, at least he's never pretended to love us or call us "his club", then fuck off at the first sign of trouble, like Henry at Arsenal.

Great player, will be replaced soon enough by any other great player looking to come to England. Contracts, a player's word, all mean fuck all now.

If Wenger does follow Henry to Barca I wonder if Sven will go to the Gooners instead of City, I can see Wenger going like the Gooners are in a mess and with them losing Hnery why on earth would he stay if Barca want him..

Tbf to Henry, he did all he can to Arsenal, he needed a new challenge and was already told he will NOT be getting a new contract come next season, i can't really blame him for leaving, at the very least Arsenal got some money out of him..beats moving on free next year

If Barcelona play eto'o, messi, ronnie and Henry at the same time, they will most likely need to play a 4-2-2-2 formation with 2 defensive mids to make sure they don't end up conceding 5 goals a match. Basically, it would be:

-------------------------------Valdes---------------------------------

-------------------------------Defence--------------------------------

--------------------Edmilson-----another specialised dm-------

---Messi-----------------------------------------Ronaldinho-------

--------------------Eto'o--------------Henry------------------------

They would score a hell of a lot of goals though O0

Jerome Anderson (football agent and founder of SEM Group ) is a close friend of David Dein, Anderson employs Darren Dein (Dein's son) as a external consultant for SEM,  Anderson is Henry's football agent, Darren Dein was Henry's best man at his wedding. David Dein left Arsenal on 18 April 2007, Henry plans to leave  2 month later.

And neither he fucking should, he just signed one a year ago. He wouldn't be going for free next year.  Unless he signed a two year contract last season, which I HIGHLY doubt, but don't actually know.  No to be fairs to him at all. I understand the urge for a new challenge, but all his bullshit about Arsenal has left a bad taste in my mouth. Of course he "loves" them, they put him back on the world stage, but he's jumped at the first sign of trouble, a year after reaching the CL final. Awful nice of him.

The CM partnership will definitely be Deco and Xavi.

Apprently, Deco is leaving and I don't rate him that highly either. However, I forgot about Xavi and Iniesta, who are both very good players. Surely playing with those two as well as that front four would be almost football suicide, although most of their scorelines would be ridiculously high :celb: Would love to see it

Looks a lot like Real where they use Diarra and Emerson to give the top 4 liscense to go....but there is absolutely no comparison between RvN, Raul, Robinho & Beckham and Barca's 4. I'd think they'll let Deco go and use Xavi+1(Hopefully somone better than Motta, Marquez, Edmilson, etc).

Get a better goalie, a bit of chopping and changing at the back, could be looking at the best team ever. ???
