Iraqi captain Younis Mahmoud has turned down Sunderland.

Obviously wasn't keen on the idea of moving his family from Baghdad to a sh*thole of a city.

'Sunderland agreed a deal to sign Kieran Richardson last night, after completing the signing of Michael Chopra earlier in the day. The club have agreed a fee of £5.5 million with Manchester United for Richardson, the midfield player who came through the ranks at Old Trafford. Richardson, who was also wanted by Everton and Manchester City, returned from playing for England in the European Under21 Championship finals to find that he was surplus to requirements at United after the arrival of Nani and Owen Hargreaves this summer.'

That would destroy her.

Her claim to fame was being cousin of Manchester United's title winner...Sunderland's relegation battle won't do her much good.

Too cruel Vic, but I like it!

Why all this fuss over Chopra? Does anyone really f****** care that the scum down the road have paid well over the top for a mediocre striker whos non-premiership proven... i know i dont!

I think its fantastic they will be going into next season with Chopra as their main striker tbh.

also seems to be the sort who doesn't perform well under pressure. a 5million price tag wont help that.

under pressure, touted as next shearer, we overhype our youth, expected to do well= no performances

goes on loan to championship= not much pressure, team spent no money, less media focus= goals!

back to toon= few goals

goes to cardiff= nominal fee, less media hype, less expectation= scores goals

goes to sunderland= big transfer fee, their main striker, media attention, needs to perform or flop= ???

it could be that he's just not good enough for the PL, or maybe he is but the pressure at the toon is too much?
