"Along with Eric Abidal at Lyon he was regarded as the form left back in the second half of last season in France and he would now relish the opportunity to demonstrate his ability in England."

Would suggest that he did indeed only make a breakthrough towards the end of last season.

Notice the second to Abidal comment. Was there a cryptic clue from Allardyce this weekend?

What do you mean? That he wanted Abidal?

He said this weekend that Abidal was the only transferred left back he would have wanted to buy. Now Drame is being described as second best to Abidal.

Watch people complain that they've never heard of him now.

I've never heard of him like,i recon it's a reccommendation from Rozenhal tbh

It's a no brainer that Sam would of asked Rozenhal his thoughts and opnion on the player.

I see. It wasn't Allardyce who said this though, it was Drame's agent. But it might be right.

"Boukary did very well at PSG last year, but wants to test himself at the highest level possible and believes the Premier League is the place to be," Drame's agent Saif Rubie told skysports.com.

"He has fantastic potential and his game is ideally suited to the demands of the Premier League.

Probably just agent talk, but sounds promising.

April 2007

Meanwhile, French press reports Bolton are interested in Paris Saint Germain defender Boukhary Drame.

The 21-year-old has greatly improved this season but with one year remaining on his current contract, has yet to find an agreement on an extension.

Bolton could be ready to step in and tempt the stopper to the Premiership in the summer.

Was also a target for Sam while at Bolton it appears, just like Roz was.

It's no bloody wonder he made some kind of break through last year, thats because most everyone they had, were a heap o shite, until a very late period in the season. That includes Rozenhal, goodness gracious moi.

So what is he like then?

Given he played with Rozebhal last year, at least there'd be a semblance of understanding there already.

No idea how good or not the kid might be though

I'm just glad were looking at LB's.

Painfully clear yesterday where the huge gaping hole was, it need filling two times over.

No idea who he is, but even a rival to Babayaro would ease some anxiety right now, then maybe we can go look for a 1st teamer.

Chronicle editor: 'We're down on sales, any ideas?'

Oliver: 'They're getting worried about the left-back spot going by the forums.'

Editor: 'Great, that'll do. Rustle something up.'

Oliver: 'No probs.'

Is this what we've been reduced to?!  Asking GIRLS for their opinions on footballers!  Mort and Ashley have a lot to answer for.

He's alright from what I've seen - PSG played pretty well in the second half of last season as well.

Hope there is some truth in this. Would be nice for Sam to pull a young frech left back out the hat for next to nothing. Would still like to see us sign Quedrue like.

If they were going to make something up, surely they would go for someone we've heard of?

If they made it up it would have been Ashley Cole or someone in that league

Sounds good,  considering only yesterday some were thinking that we would go into the season without signing a new LB.  22 years old,  pacy and has played for the national team.  Won't be upset if he joins

The fact that he's played with Rozenhal before would help him settling in a bit,  too.

No idea if he's any good as haven't seen him play. Sounds promising though, 5'11, pacy plays for senegal and PSG, second best LB in France, so if he checks out sign him as we are desperate.

5'11" is tiny, I'm 5'10" and I'm a short-arse.
