It's a shame that you can't acknowledge the fact that "Freddie always backed his managers" is, in fact, true, mind. I'm sure that our balancing the books act so far under the new board, that you thought was going to be automatically better, is showing all the signs so far of not backing the manager to a similar degree. Still, I'm sure that isn't true at all, as you say it isn't the case. Particularly as the one person who DOES know, has been expressing his dissatasfaction and frustration at whateve is actually reallly happening.

 

 

 

Freddy backed Roeder less than Mort has so far backed Allardyce, at least that will be the case when we sign the bloke who has just travelled over from Spain, FACT.

I think the re-evaluation is bullshit. I think it's far more likely Ashley stepped in ans said to Allardyce and Mort what are you doing selling Dyer for £5m.

So far as your 2nd sentence goes, I hope it convinces him that he should bugger off and forget about his "loyalty bonus" IF this IS the reason for the deal being pulled.

 

Basically, if it ISN'T, why aren't the club telling us specifically what DID happen to protect him, now that this is happening ?

I'll stand by my comments about you being happy to have a £10 million player rotting in the reserves, as for my my feelings on him, I don't think he's had a good enough run to prove one way or another if he's good enough.

 

As for Dyer, I've already said that I think something has happened to get the club to ask for more money from West Ham and it could be one of a number of things, I don't think for one minute that we've just decided that it might be a good idea to try and get more out of West Ham although it's always possible, I think it's the least likely of all of the things that have been mentioned.

 

As for why the club are not telling us why, the answer is in the post that you replied to.

I can't think of anything that West Ham may have done that would make us up the price by £2 million just as Dire was about to put pen to paper.

If it's true about the loyalty bonus thing the club are probably protecting Dyer because it won't go down well with the fans if he ends up having to stay. There's some speculation that the deal can be revived though.

There is a sell on clause but it is only if there is a profit, it would be 20% of profit. Just found out.  So if he goes for the new price ITFC will make some money but they won`t if he goes for the WHU valuation.

Dunno whether this bits been mentioned or not, but according to todays Mirror, West Ham approached Dyer behind toons back and set the price of £6m themselves, then when the toon found out, they rated him more than that and sais if West Ham still wanted him, they'd have to pay the extra.

 

Apart from both the way it's been handled by WH and the fact Dyer's still here, what; sticking in my throat is that Dyer's now saying he's already told his two kids he's 'coming home' so what's he been doing the years he been here then? and whats he doing tomming it around so much if he supposed to care for his kids so much?  he's a lying, arrogant greedy bastard, who, it looks like, we're bloody stuck with.

 

Can you imagine what its gonna be like in the training ground? he's gonna be like a spolit brat who's just lost his dummy.

I don't think we are desperate for money, if that was the case we would have accepted the bid as it stood. We don't really know what has gone on but surely the FACT that we have signed Smith and are in talks with Enrique prove that we do not need the Dyer money to make signings. Arguably Sam only wants one more in before the start of the season and that is Possibly Drago who seems to cost around about 2.5 million so I really don't think we need the extra 2 million from the Dyer sale to finalise the other transfers.

 

West Ham will get desperate anyone, come the end of the transfer window if they haven't found a replacement I fully expect the Dyer move to come off!

West Ham will not budge on their £6million offer for Kieron Dyer - but the England midfielder's transfer could be revived if Newcastle accept a compromise deal.

 

Dyer had been on the point of moving to Upton Park after the clubs agreed a fee of £5million up front plus a further £1million depending on appearances.

 

Newcastle then decided they had under-valued the player and demanded a further £2million causing West Ham to pull out of the move.

 

It is understood the Hammers are still interested in Dyer, who has already passed a medical, but will not go above £6million. They may, however, be willing to pay all the money up front.

You seem to have difficulty comptrehending the fact we turned down £6m shows we are anything but desperate. If you don't understand this let me know and I'll explain in simpler terms.

I don't have any problem acknowledging Shepherd always backed his managers. My only gripe was that his reasoning for picking Souness and Roeder stunk of incompetence.

£10m-worth of signings in the last few days with no players sold to balance the books AND Big Sam personally crediting Mort for getting the deals done. Actions speak louder than words.
