  1. Past hour
  2. All I heard was how Hume was going to knack Gordon. All Gordon done was skip by him constantly and get his shirt ripped off his back...by Hume Even now loads of them are falling into that trap of completely overrating the players we have, I seen someone yesterday say their defence is sound for the Premier League. I'm sure Haaland, Salah & Isak are trembling at the thought. I, like many others, obviously fancy the likes of Wolves & Brentford to take them to the cleaners. They'll win a few games at home but it won't be enough. I'll be staggered if they get close to 40 points.

    Alexander Isak

… or a team in the PL surely?
  4. TRon

    Kieran Trippier

I posted something about worth keeping him for an extra season seeing as we are in the CL a couple of days ago. Haven't bothered to trawl through all the hoo-harr shite, not really interested.
  5. Fine; maybe obscure was a little bit of an exaggeration but any player with a lot to prove represents a gamble and fees usually reflect this. Established or let’s say more “hyped” players in any league will go for big money.
  6. KennyUtd

    Alexander Isak

Definitely. He's helped win us a cup and played some fantastic football. Get a massive fee and wish him well. Just not to fkn Arsenal.
  7. You might be right. As stated already, I don't really follow French football, this is just my perception that a Paris club had the potential to be one of the world's biggest. Maybe once the money dries up they will go back to being a farmers league. Maybe that could be true of Man City and Chelsea for that matter. They were well known clubs when I was growing up, but certainly no world beaters. Money definitely catapulted them into the stratosphere, and being associated with London and Manchester probably helped.

I think we only have about 4-5 players at most who can demand top wages anyway. It's probably worth paying them to keep them onboard if we have aims to be considered a top club as well.
  9. Yes and no, I don’t think Paris has that much potential except when artificially boosted by Qatari money. TBH I still think of them as a weird Frankenstein club in some ways, a relatively average club in an average league but with loads of money making them big.
  10. Paris being Paris is always going to attract eyes, same way as London. I accept that the French League wasn't much of a competiton, but that's not what I'm saying. My point is that PSG being based in Paris always had the potential to be one of the biggest teams in the world. I mean, that's how it has played out right?

    St James' Park

    Pity it’s Mark Douglas
  12. Decky

    Alexander Isak

The media are desperate for him to go to Liverpool
  13. As brilliant as he is I think Isak would have to stay fit and firing for a whole season for someone to spend £100m+ on him. I think the very elite clubs might still have some reservations. If his contract runs down I guess it might be different.
  14. I don't know he can't but how do you know he can? I'm just pointing out that to say he is the best player because he has skills you like, doesnt mean he would be the best fit for an Eddie Howe team
  15. What are their crowds like now? Are they still playing in front of low turnouts? I only ask because I seem to remember they have a very vocal presence at St James during the CL fixture, and their home game looked pretty well supported.
  16. Well sure, just seems like you should agree with the club whether you can actually afford to buy the guy. Maybe that happens informally.
  17. It isn’t anticompetitive to have FPPT for membership - PIF refused to go through it. The PL’s objections were dropped literally one day after KSA paid the fine and allowed BeIN back into the country.
  18. Stal

    Kieran Trippier

I lived in Jarrow a few years back and often heard the name, but I wasn't sure if he was real or if it was some sort of local in-joke. That documentary was rather eye opening.
  19. Quote happy with that

    Kieran Trippier

I actually feel for him must have been an awful time for him. If it was his own doing he’ll have to live with that. None of our business
  21. It’s anti competitive and cartel behaviour hence the case being brought by legal experts.
  22. One up the bum, no harm done
  23. I’m just going to enjoy him while he’s here. I doubt he’ll be here in a couple of years’ time - but when he goes, it won’t be to fucking Arsenal, despite the delusional punditocracy who were desperate for him to head to Laaaaandaaan
  24. Everyone knew they were blocking it - was exposure was there to be had? So what if they were? They asked for the ownership to go through the PL’s FPPT like any other potential owner. There isn’t a conspiracy when it was well known what was happening. Members of the PL are allowed to raise their concerns to the PL board.
