Sky reporting it’s £10m + £5m. Regardless, it’s still a fee they won’t see much direct financial return on. I’m not disputing the advantages of signings like this, and this one in particular seems very sensible for Arsenal. But where we are financially means we can’t cover every base that we probably need to. We have to decide where we’re prepared to leave ourselves potentially short.

Howe hasn't been doing this. Isak & Big Joe get injured - what do we do? Based on last season - we got to a back 5. That's not right.

Those transfers are more about the wages. Players moving at that age are on for final big deal, and we're still not in a position where we can have our depth be on circa £100k+, where after one season they're surplus to requirements and can ride out their wages for next 2-3 seasons.

I think we would go to a 4231 if we brought elanga and pedro. Bruno and tonali as the two and when they are knackered in the 2nd half, we bring on Big Joe and/or Miley to keep things sweet. Also would have barnes and Murphy to keep the Press intense Up top....

They’re on a high from having the league handed to them and signing some Bournemouth left-back. When it gets down to kick off time next season and he’s still at Newcastle, the summer having trickled away, when they’re throwing tantrums on the shop floor, crying cause they didn’t get any sweets, maybe we can offer them a tissue just in time for them to see him smash three past them at SJP.
