Barca need to find a way to get Raphina into the game more, nothing has come from that side of the pitch. Yamal is carrying this lot atm
-
It's the type of penalty that Gordon made an art form out of winning last season but I'm not sure I'm in favour of them even though by the letter of the law it's a pen, Martinez clearly played for the penalty by moving his foot between the defender and the ball, never made any attempt to play the ball.
-
Like i said i see the contact. I just dont’t see the foul. What did he prevent as they were both stretching to reach the ball with the tips of their boots.
-
Its 90% dependent on the offside trap
-
Barca really don’t even bother trying to defend
-
Man, it would be wonderful to see us compete this deep into this competition at some point in the hopefully not too distant future. Would be nervy as fuck of course, but would still be wonderful. Maybe I just jinxed our next decade...?
-
I’m a Barca hater. But this brand of football doesn’t make sense and shouldn’t win the CL. No respect for defence. And it will break my ‘you need proper full backs to win the CL’ chat.
-
This Inter formation is one we used v Arsenal in the 2nd leg - would like to see us use it more
-
Regardless of your view on the pen, stuff like that will happen when you defend in such a way. You don't win CLs defending like that. Traditionally, trying to simply outscore the opposition for 2 sets of 90 minutes without ever thinking about consolidation in spells, will catch you against good sides.
-
Harsh as in he didn’t get the ball and took Martinez ankle out?
-
He tackles the inter lads foot into the ball that's a foul.
-
We should look at Comuzzo at Fiorentino before Brighton or Bournemouth take the risk.
-
Barca don't have any decent shithousers anymore sadly.
-
I see the contact that you are all discussing I just don’t see the foul in the action. Not sure what the defender prevented as Martinez was slipping. Wouldn’t even be discussed anywhere else on the pitch. Pleased for Inter though

Most recent winning CL fullbacks have been lockdown defenders. DC at Madrid obviously and the CBs Pep has been playing at FB. Prior to that Chelsea had 2 of the better fullbacks win it. This season Barcelona aside the 3 other semi finalists have lockdown fullbacks. To win the champions league you need fullbacks to be able to shut out Mbappe, Vini, Kvara, Doue, Lamal, Raphinha, Saka etc. level players. The Madrid CL winning sides have been able to dig deep to win football matches in the CL. Can Trent do that?
-
Don't give a shit who goes through I just want to see loads of cynical defending, shithousing and violent reducers in the second half please
-
In that case I'm Team Barca
-
That was actually the perfect use of VAR, and how it should be implemented and used, as in real time, that looked like an inch perfect tackle, and you can understand exactly why the ref didn't give that, but it was clear it was a mistake from an alternate angle, and was rightly switched.
-
That's what it's for though to correct decisions like that. Where the defender doesn't win the ball.
-
That referee can go fuck himself. Same twat who cheated us out of a win at PSG.
-
They've already decided they don't need to bother trying to get back into the match as they can just cry cheat at the referee afterwards. A Spanish fave.
-
he's been on off it this season but he's absolutely outstanding when he's on form.
-
Yeah i hear ya. I think we will be looking in the 40- lower 50 bracket. 21-26, experience for their age etc, internationals, at clubs who are vulnerable to us.
-
harsh pen tbf - can't say that was clear and obvious
