I love it but understand why the club are trying to restore and revive for the modern age. That ash willerton pretty much nailed why the current one is a mess in the digital age. Edit- don't agree with the way the club has done this mind, the timing and the loaded nature of the survey makes me think this is lip service for the inevitable change they have already ratified.

Second what Groundhog said about Heaton Hawks, always had a good rep when I used to coach, focus on equal playing time etc... If you can get around to a few sessions (don't think they're called trials anymore!) I'd recommend doing that to see where he's comfortable, at that age if you can get him playing somewhere with his mates and that doesn't treat U8s like its the Premier League (talking about both coaches and other parents there!) you're onto a winner
