Its a shame that situation. Felt like after the previous season he was a 100m player. Grealish Rice, you couldn't say he wasn't as influential and dicisive, same age, English...but after this season, thats taken a hit. Hope he pulls it together if Wirtz joins Liverpool, hasn't looked settled or happy this year at all to me

If we have JP and Elanga and keep our attacking options we have a chance of requalifying for the CL. We need genuine depth. That does require good players sitting on the bench on occasion. We’ll went to play 55 games or so.

https://streamin.me/v/53a8a7a3 Plenty of this stuff plus loads of diving and he missed the last 2 Brighton games for having a fight with a teammate. He’d be the second coming of Bellamy and the death of the no dickheads rule.
-
The disgust I have for them making CL is nearly as bad as if we hadn't qualified. Then again, it would have made no difference, their holding company would just buy the tealady for 200 million
-
Konsa, Burn and James the only defenders?
-
I'd be happy to scout, sign and develop players at the rate Brighton do. We wouldn't need to sell unless we wanted to. Only way we get around PSR is finding potential and making stars regularly
-
We will have more than enough if we sell Gordon for £70-80m. Thats something like £50m in profit. Amortization on purchases of £180m would just be £35m this season. Have to add in extra contract costs ofc, but we already have some leeway after getting rid of that 22/23 season.

Feels like the kind of player who will never be a guaranteed first team starter at any top club, but would always be on the bench because he's reliable and versatile. Exactly the kind of player we need tbh. Chelsea would ask way too much for him though.
-
True, but just that we have pretty much no one to sell soon enough, and I wouldn't like us to handcuff ourselves with these to players. They are good players but not top4.
-
-
Like Chalobah, versatile as well

This is from the Athletic Brighton reporter the other day. Seems to think they’ll sell:
-
Yes Gordon would probably be the only one of that lot who could be sold for a good chunk and we wouldn't have to immediately replace him if those four did come in. I think we'd have just about enough, wouldn't be ideal though.
-
We dont need to sell now, can wait until January/the end of the season.
-
We only want players for 30m plus.
-
This is the problem. Even if we did sign those 4 players, hamstringing ourselves in future windows, how much better is our team? Considering our revenue and PSR, we need a scouting system as good as operations like Monaco, Red Bull, Brighton, Brentford etc. 50-60mil signings for players who don't immediately make us much stronger is nuts. Realistically we need- a first team RW, a first team ready 8/10 that offers attacking technique, pace and link up with Bruno/Tonali for those games where we endlessly turn the ball over and have no threat from the middle a fast center back a forward good enough to replace Isak, maybe with some different qualities Also- Goalie with more composure, better passing, who can replace Pope either now or later. -Midfield depth, could do with a mix of an established, decent physical player happy with squad role and young talent who can in time fill in for Bruno or Tonali Lastly- youth with the potential to be first 11 eventually. Malanga/Pedro aren't top tier players. We don't cement our place unless we get those types young, coach them and they fill our squad in future. I'd like us to fill our squad out with as much value as possible and keep the big money for lads who absolutely justify it, Isak, Bruno, Gordons, lads that Madrid, City would spend an arm and a leg because they'd improve that 11.
-
I like this a lot and it compliments an Elanga transfer.
-
RIP what cunti will do him.
-
Possible if we make a big sale (Gordon).
-
Currently worth 80mil tho

Leao?

fwiw here's the Joao Pedro season heatmap for Brighton in the PL. Mitoma's heatmap gloriously hugs the left touchline, so Pedro has been floating inside that. The above is Sofascore and here's where Transfermarkt think Pedro's been lining up. I like Pedro as a player and don't mind the suggested price tag based on what Spurs had to pay for Solanke. We've had our eye on him for ages so we must know what he can do. Based on the above heatmap alone though, this would make extra sense if we're moving on someone who plays mostly on the left. Our squad is already left side heavy.
