  2. Well they also signed Delap but they probably think he's not good enough either.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

That's pretty much his call now though. I think we have a budget for a number of positions and so can't afford to just pay what is being asked for right away.
  4. Aye, I think that's the crux of it for them. They want someone like Ekiteke or Gyokeres (or probably Isak). Pedro as a main striker signing would be underwhelming, probably even for us.

    Andy Carroll

Nah, he was absolute quality and if he hadn’t had persistent injury issues he’d have had a top career in the PL. He was possibly the best at heading the ball the league has seen and he had a top left peg. He was also a nightmare to play against for defenders. Can’t remember if it was his ankles or his back but he was never the same after he left us and had an injury at Liverpool
  6. He won't give a shit. But it is interesting they are so opposed to him signing. You would think they would be desperate for a decent striker. Maybe they think they should be aiming higher.
  7. I’m kind of shrugging my shoulders at it - their expectations will be well above mine, given the money they have and the draw they have.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I think Howe might prefer us to stop playing hardball on fees and pay what it takes to get his first choice players through the door.
  9. It was a shocking decision last year, we wanted Hjuisen after him being available last summer, instead we begged to massively overpay for Guehi, luckily Palace continued to take the piss all summer. Hopefully we've learned. I wonder how many scouts we've had at the U-21 and CWC championships
  10. I never understood where that idea came from - Kevin Nolan around that time said that he’d wanted the move and Nolan advised him to go for it. It is one of the handful of moments where I thought Ashley was absolutely right to do what he did - he played hardball and sold a player for well above what they were worth; it was obvious to anyone with eyes Carroll wasn’t the next big thing, he was a decent PL centre forward having a purple patch. He was more Kevin Davies than Alan Shearer. Dalglish proved once again that he didn’t have an eye for a player.
  11. Just picking up on the same point a few others made earlier - it's absolutely hilarious seeing Chelsea fans' massively negative reaction to his potential signing. Wonder if he's reading any of it, or if he cares.
  12. You say that but to this day I still wonder if Man City wanting Fred, Alexis Sanchez and Cristiano was a ruse knowing the red scum would do just that. Although Chelsea would just sell the moss from the Stamford Bridge roof to themselves to free up some extra coin if needed anyway
  13. Activity really looks like ramping up to a level not seen since Xisco

Well if other clubs are signing his preferred targets because they are able to spend more or pay more in wages, we'll have to look elsewhere. No other choice really.
  15. Hopefully this is 4D chess - where we are attracting Chelsea to our 2nd choices, knowing they like to copy our homework, and once they've spunked their ill gotten gains on those players, we then move in on our first choices unopposed. I can dream.

Do they have a wrestling thread over there? Be interested to see how many are watching the WWE show in Saudi.
  17. If Chelsea show even the slightest interest in him he’s going to go there it seems.
  18. Chelsea in for Kudus pre-empting us walking away from Elanga or what?! 😅
  19. It's not fifa mate, Simons is versatile, Nusa can play as a winger/striker.
